Despite our late arrival, Marcelo took his time to give us a warm welcome and all the necessary explanations and tips for our staying in the most cosy corner of this beautiful city of Barcelona. During our 5 days stay, our host was always available to help with a bright and gentle smile, for wathever request we might have. The... More

Great place to stay with a good location and kind service! The neighbourhood is alive and interesting to visit and being located near a metro stop it is easily possible to explore the rest of Barcelona

Friendly place with friendly owners in a really nice neighborhood. Some good restaurants are just outside the door. In a 15 minute walk you're at the beach or you've walked through the gotic area. The owners are friendly and cooperative. I would come back!

I took my son to Barcelona to celebrate the fact that he graduated from school and took Spanish as an extra subject. We loved Casa Marcelo, especially Marcelo himself! He went out of his way to welcome us, gave us great tips on where to eat and what to do and shared his passion for flower arrangements with us. We... More

We stayed her again, a second time. It is a very nice B&B. The apartment and all rooms and bathrooms are very nice, modern and very clean. Marcelo and his staff are also very nice. The B&B is located in a nice area, close to everything and rather quiet compared with Las Ramblas. I will definitly stay here again! The... More

It was a bit tricky to find this place, since the street changed its name a few meters ahead, and there was no sign on the door. But once we had found it, there were no more problems. Marcelo was very kind and attentive to us when we arrived, and showed us around, explaining everything. He also recommended a few... More

Marcelo is a gracious host and his staff are professional and friendly. This little Casita is comfortable, scrupulously clean, quiet, and well-run. Marcelo is very organized and pays attention to every detail. I traveled with my teenage daughter, and this was perfect for us. Probably not suitable for very small children due to the quietness of the hotel. This was... More

Marcelo is always exceeding my expectations. Perfect the first time and the next. Gorgeous interior design, contemporary yet authentic. Sacrificing an aicon for a few nights is totally worth it. Service is first rate, breakfast is fresh, and the space is spotless. Staying here is a pleasure. No fuss, just outstanding quality and service. Perfect location, pricing and service -... More

It was such a pleasure to stay here. Marcelo and staff took great care of us. I arrived earlier than expected and they offered to have the room ready for me before I got the chance to ask! The breakfast was simple (coffee/tea, fruit and fresh bread) but it was all we needed to start our day. The rooms are... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
