We never felt more welcome than here with Marcello and Oliver. Every detail in this house is arranged in such a perfect way that you will feel even more compftable as ever imagined. Additionaly the house is located in a beautiful district and only a couple of minutes away from beach and Metro. We rate 12 out of 10 points!

Olivier and Marcelo are wonderful, charming hosts and we really enjoyed staying here. The location is perfect--Born is a trendy area with lots of restaurants and shopping, 10 mins from Plaza Catalunya and about the same from Barceloneta, but is not as overrun with people as the Ramblas, etc. Very comfortable bed, by the way. One note: the breakfast is... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at this lovely B&B! Marcelo and Olivier were both so hospitable and keen to make sure we made the most of our stay. The interior is charming and there is much attention to detail. The location is great with Port Vell, Barcelonetta, Parc de la Cuitadella and the interesting streets, shops and restaurants of... Charming B and B, very well located in the Born district, easy walk to Plaza Catalunya (10 mins), close to public transport, in a trendy area full of tapas bars and bakeries. We had the balcony room with ensuite. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, sufficient room for far too much luggage. Continental breakfast, distinguished by the quality of the bread and... More

I stayed for four nights after travelling from Pamplona. I was unwell. The welcome and hospitality I received from Oliver and Marcelo was exceptional. They truly cared about my health condition. The B&B is beautifully kept and maintained and its location in the Gothic quarter is central to all the key sites of Barcelona. If my family and I were... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. It's a charming flat, and a great location - near sights and restaurants. The bedroom and bathroom were both spotless and beautifully decorated. Both hosts were very nice and helpful. We would be happy to return, and recommend this to others. It was also very near our friend's excellent restaurant - fusion tapas with... More

We spent a week at Casa Marcelo and enjoyed everything this great B&B had to offer. The location cannot be beat. Easy access from the airport with the Metro and train station just steps away. Fantastic restaurants and shopping in the immediate area and within walking distance of many "must-see" sights. Our room was comfortable and the entire space, well... More

This is a lovely place to stay. We stayed for a weekend in room 4 and really enjoyed our time. The room was large and comfortable and beautifully presented. The hosts are friendly, professional and helpful. There is a simple but nice breakfast provided. There is noise at night however the advantages of staying centrally in an area with excellent... The casa is beautiful and the atmosphere is very relaxing. You will feel right at home. It's conveniently located, but still quiet inside. Rooms are spotless and very tastefully decorated. Olivier is incredibly helpful. Plus, he gives great advice.

We had a lovely weekend break at Marcelo and Olivier place. Location is excellent, although the taxi driver from the airport had a little difficulty finding the address, ie. studying a map/ a to z, while driving into the city. Fantastic range of tapas bars and small shops within walking distance, and Olivier and Marcelo were extremely helpful in advice,... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
