Basically, you get exactly what you expect for a cheap sleeping place...The staff does not speak anything but Spanish or Catalan; the Internet did not work at all during our 3 days stay; we had cold showers one of the days because the water was suddenly cold and apparently there was nothing they could do about it; very loud environment.... Relatively close to two metro lines and Passeig de Gracia station which has a train to the airport. Also in the middle of most of the attractions but in quiet area with nothing immediately around it. Did not have breakfast but are a few cafes in the area. No really nice restaurants nearby. Room was a bit shabby but clean... More

No window, no washroom for nearly $100 CDN per night. Clean sheets, tram sounds like it's running right under you. Staff start crashing around near 5am. Next!

Booked this for 2 nights but probably wouldn't return. The family who run the place are lovely but it really needs updating. It reminded me of a 70's school dormitory - like going back in time but not in a good way. 70 euro a night isn't bad considering you're ten mins walk from Placa Catalunya but the beds are... More

My self and my boyfriend stayed for four nights... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
