This is my second time staying at this location because I enjoyed it so much. The staff are friendly and helpful, beds comfy and clean and it´s in a great location near all the sites, quickly accessible to the metro or by foot. Very safe and plenty of maps and brochures available. Kitchen fully equipt for making meals, large refrigerator,... More

Brilliant hostel. Feels very homely and lived in. Kitchen is very well equipped, reception 24h, wifi working, everything is very clean. The only thing that's spoiling is the noise - I don't know what the walls are made of but I could hear everything that's going on on the street and some pipes around the rooms made horrible noises all... Amazing hostel. Small, but very clean and very well located near the city centre in a quite safe neighbourhood (and very close to 2 underground stations - urgell & universitat). The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The whole experience was excellent.

Deciding on a hostel to stay at is a big decision! You want to find somewhere that is going to be safe and clean and have a good atmosphere. This place is the one to go to if you want all of that. It's located in a quite area of town so you won't have trouble going to sleep. It's... More

Very good hostel, clean, tidy, functional. All the staff were friendly and helpful, excellent recommendations on where to visit and eat. Great location, short walking distance to la rambla. Would stay here again.

Good hostel. Friendly people and a good atmosphere. Stayed in the large mixed dorm and still felt safe. Communal bathrooms were clean and good-quality. Clean, functional kitchen. Helpful staff for planning activities. Discounts available.

The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to help (however I must note upon reading the reviews I am surprised at a staffs response to the person who gave it a 2 star is very off putting and unprofessional.) The good: there were several different staff when I was staying and they were all very kind, the... More

When we arrived at Backpackers BCN Casanova, we were greeted by a large open area central to a 5 or 6 dorms. There was a large communal kitchen and cosy living area with a TV complete with games and movies. There were a few shower rooms and a few bathrooms which made it quite easy for the small hostel to... So I decided to treat myself with a Barcelona weekend, but as I am traveling more and more, budget also matters. I came up with this hostel through a travel blog, and found a lot of positive reviews. This is gonna be one of those too! Hostel was very cheap in my opinion, especially considering the location. Only 2 mins... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
