Stayed for 2 nights in a twin room on 4th floor. Previous to stay I emailed the hotel, the email address pinged back so emailed head office and asked them to pass my message on. It wasn't done which was disappointing. We booked through the website and got a good rate which included breakfast. I would not recommend paying for... More

It is not recommended to put bags in the luggage storage room . Hotel employee will enter and take all the cash he finds ! I took 400 euros cash I thought to look out of that room . Only employees of the hotel have access to a luggage storage room . Sure that's what happened . I have no... More

First of all apologize you for the inconvenience caused. Our staff advises customers that can leave the suitcases in slogan but that they are not responsible for valuables. For these objects, safe in reception, where insurance is responsible if there is a problem we have. We are fully confident in our staff and it always acts in the best way.... More

The BCN Colonial is in an excellent location in between the Gothic quarter and El Born. It is in very easy walking distance to La Rambla, Plaza Catalunya, the Port Area, Beach etc and metres from a metro station. Having seen the reviews and room hints/tips we emailed the hotel the week before to request a 6th floor room with... More

Booked for a couple of nights, perfect for exploring the Gothic Quarter as it's right behind the hotel. Our room was very clean, nicely decorated and had an immaculate bathroom. As other reviewers have stated there is no kettle so we brought our own for that all important brew. There is a fridge for anything you buy. The staff were... More

Brilliant hotel right in the middle of Barcelona easy access to everything Barcelona has to offer. Stayed here in December brilliant Christmas market on the doorstep. Able to relax in hotel bedroom, balcony windows open, listening to beautiful Christmas Carols sung in front of Gothic Cathedral.

A really nice clean, modern hotel. Close to the port & 10min walk from Las rambla & all the shops & restaurants. Our room was quite small but still nice, I suppose you are only in there to sleep. I would reccomend this hotel & would stay again. The only 1 downside to this hotel was the breakfast. Coffee from... More

We stayed at the colonial for 3 nights, it's location stands out, near Cathedral Santa Maria and Barcelona, it's an extremely short hop great restaurants and bars, plus near almost all major sights, great metro connections are a plus as well. The rooms are of a high standard and very clean, we got a room without a view but it... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
