This was the BEST place we stayed in during our entire Spain trip! I would love to live in an apartment like this in this very location. Could not have asked for a better place to spend our last 5 nights in Spain. We were checked in by Ana at Chic&Basic Born. She was adorable! Very talkative and gave us... More

Great location near the metro station Jaume I, close to supermarket, restaurants, bars, shops. Spacious enough for 4 adults, very well equipped in order to prepare breakfast and dinner. Fantastic value of money. We would definitely recommend it.

We stayed three nights with a small child. Good aspects 1. lots of space - good if you have a child as they have plenty of space and the bedrooms have an adjoining door you can leave ajar if you like. 2. good kitchen (though we couldn't get the oven to work), has Nespresso machine, microwave etc - you can... This was a second time in Chic & Basic Born for us, but for that time we booked apartment. Very good location, clean, spacious, comfortable apartment with full equipment. Super friendly staff. Sure we back again.

We stayed in a self catering apartment which is located along the road from the hotel. It is situated in a the vibrant Latin Quarter of Barcelona and is surrounded by awesome tapas bars and restaurants, and chic shops. This is the area to be - keep away from La Ramblers where the prices are expensive and the food is... More

We were in Barcelona for the Christmas week and really enjoyed our stay at the Chic & Basic Born Apartments. We had a very large, well-appointed apartment with a great kitchen. Nothing negative to say other than there was some street noise with windows open but that isn't the fault of the property. Nice beds with plenty of linens and... More

If you are wanting to feel like a local, this is the place to stay. We had a small group of friends traveling Spain together, and booked this apartment so we could all stay together. First of all, the price is fantastic, especially considering how nice the apartments are. The location is incredible. We would go to a nearby market,... More

When we arrived to the hotel for checkin, they told us there is a problem in our room (broken window!:) and sent us to their hotel, which was much worse (it was an apartment with two separate beds and we went there for our honeymoon!). And they made us walk for 20min with our luggage. We were not informed beforehand... More

A nest in the heart of the coolest area of Barcelona. The nicest staff - thank you so much, Anna, for your warm smile and your smart suggestions! - and to everybody for their professionalism and kindness. It was a wonderful stay. The best place for people that like to feel free, "light", and enjoy beauty+atmosphere.

I would absolutely stay at this location again if I return to Barcelona. The apartment is in a wonderful location of the city. You're in the heart of everything without feeling like you're being lured into a million tourist traps. Being close to the metro (down the street) or a 20 min walk to La Rambla, you can easily get... Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
