My wife and I almost always stay in traditional hotels but decided to try "apartment living" for 3 days in Barcelona. Our experience with Amister Apartments was great. Ariadna was incredibly helpful, kind, and seemed to genuinely care about our experience. It's not a hotel so they don't always have someone on site - she gave us her cell phone... More

We booked this apartment for 3 nights. We asked for early check in, as our flight arrived around 7AM. The apartment was ready by time we came. We booked one bedroom. Surprise! We received two bedroom. Really big apartment, everything is in. Kitchen, washing machine, extra pillows and blankets. Extra beds. The location is perfect. Very close to the center... More

Hi we stayed there, two adults and two children, last week. Was a bit hard to find (look for the small Amister signs next to the main door) opposite Hotel Lleo if you are lost. Receptionist was lovely and very helpful. Apartment was clean and had good facilities, full size fried freezer cooker etc. We ate out most of the... More

Im glad that I stayed in this apartment because its very conveniently located. Very near La Rambla and Placa Catalunya. ITs a clean apartment but needs a bit of renovation. Not bad for what I paid for. Location is great and apartment is very spacious .

We spent a long weekend in Barcelona at the end of September 2012 and can't fault the accommodation for the price we paid - which was around £330 for 3 nights. We arrived when the lady in the office was on duty and she was lovely and very helpful. Not quite sure what you would do if you arrived when... More

So we visited during a large convention and they had cranked their one bedroom rate from Euro140-150 ( which is what I was told it was normally) to E330. At E150 it would have been ok, but at E 330 it was awful. Apartments need to understand that they can't just crank up the rates because everyone else is, you... More

We had stayed (a familiy of 5) for 3 nights in Amister apartments, The apartment was very nice, comfortable andwell equiped. The location was very good and enabled access by foot, bus, train and metro to any were we wanted. The service we've received from the reception was excellent. The only problem is the lack of service hours of the... More

This by far was my favorite place to stay on my 17 day trip through Spain, Italy and France. Loved, Loved IT! I had contacted them prior to arriving to have my card charged before I arrived, I booked through their own website since it offers free breakfast when booked directly through them. I also spoke to them a few... More

The apartment is at a great location very convenient to many shops, restaurants, bars, and many attractions. The receptionist was very friendly and provided us with a lot of great information. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Our stay was perfect, except for the last day. Around 9:30am I heard a sound in the apartment door and... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
