it felt like a hostel, no a/c, shared bathroom, shared kitchen, cheap bedding and towels and in a loud area BUT it was in a pretty central location to walking barcelona - the plazas, barrie gothic, the promenade, la rambla, busses. at 55 euro per night (no breakfast) it was fair for a city hostel.

After traveling from 3.30 am from London we arrived in Barcelona around 10am plus 40minutes trip to the city centre from the airport. We called Albert (the owner) around 11am to let him know that we arrived and that we would like to check in at 12pm as it is the earliest check-in time. We also e-mailed him a few... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. Okay, so the cleaning lady is absolutely mental and acts like some kind of matron, waking us up in the morning to ask us to do our washing up (it wasn't even ours it belonged to these Belgian guys who'd already left, but whatever) and the guy alejandro took FOREVER coming to let us... I totally recommend this inn. It's actually a flat of 4 bedrooms. There is a complete kitchen where you have free access to an oven, a fridge, pots and pans, cutlery, etc. The view from the large windows is amazing! The entire flat is very clean... Bet you will want to stay there forever! Plan to have pennies for quick... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
