Most fun I have ever had with a hostel. Staff went above and beyond to insure we had the best experience in Barcelona. Staff member Darwin even taught us how to make tapas, and took a group of us to fun events happening around the city. Great way to meet other travelers from around the world because of well designed... More

This was the first time going on holiday solo. I really enjoyed my experience in this hostel. It was clean, made many a friend abs the staff were caring, looked after u, engaged in helping you your and putting on events. I would go back to this hostel as it was good enough to get to the port, beach, shops,... More

Basic room and facilities. Reasonable distance from public transport that gets you to the major attractions, 10 minute walk to Las Ramblas When we arrived in the afternoon, there was no receptionist, the cleaner was the one that checked us in – limited English and the hostel only took cash Not enough power plugs to charge phones (2 for 4... my friend and I decided that we were going to take a trip away together. We both wanted to go somewhere cultural but also somewhere we could party so barcelona seemed like a pretty good shout. We searched lots of hostels but alberada looked best by far. We were both 16 at the till and they were chill about that.... More

The hostel was alright, but quite a few too many complaints to really be classified as good. First of all, we couldn't pay with card which was annoying. Secondly, the man in charge of checking us in didn't offer to help us carry our heavy suitcases, backpack or extra bags up the stairs, which we thought wasn't the best service.... More

great hostel. they have a common area where u can meet people and organize activities with the other guests. they have a plan for everyday! staff is great. Rafaella, (from the staff) even went with me to park montjuic and afterwards took us to a great colombian restobar. location is good, a few blocks from La rambla street.

Staying in Albareda was such a great experience! The staff is super friendly! Everyone! They give you tips for your travel, they include you in all the activities, they take you to bars and night clubs, and they have a tapas dinner once a week. The rooms are okay, they are clean and there's enough space for everyone. The hostel... More

The hostel is a fantastic choice for anyone who wants to travel with friends and mingle with strangers. If you want to go out to bar and clubs, this is the place. Raphaela leads a lot of what makes the hostel great and is a fantastic person who is always around if you want to hang out. I wish I... More

A very good option for those who want to combine all the possible activities, which Barcelona has to offer within a walkable distance: beach, nightlife, sightseenig, shopping .. The grocery store is situated just around the corner - 2min walk. The hostel itself provides with all the nessesary facilities you might need during your trip including a free wi-fi connection... Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
