Nothing special about this place pretty average really. Our room overlooked the roof of the market right next door to the hotel. We stayed just 1 night en route to Sitges the next day. Admittedly it's in the middle of the Ramblas, whether or not that's good or bad is down to personal preference, for me too may people, noisy... More

The smallish room ended up being quite comfortable but the first impression was poor with a dirty wall and the desk chair was filthy and torn. We used a towel to cover it. Our request for extra towel was met one day but not the next. Reception staff not always friendly.

Stayed for 3 nights end of April 15. Location is fantastic as halfway down Las Ramblas about 10 metres from the entrance to Boqueria food market. The entrance to the hotel is very small and we walked past it once as name is on glass doors rather than above hotel. We arrived before check in but were able to leave... More

We choosed this hotel, because of the location and wife have States there before. It is a 3 Star hotel and is ok. A little bit noicy because of the La Rambla. The beds are little bit to small. Breakfast is ok. The weather in May is just perfect for a weekend visit and there is a lot to See.

Located right on Las Ramblas and ten paces from La Boqueria market. Everything was great about this hotel. We took a cab from the airport and the cabbie dropped us off right in front of the hotel. Cab fare was 30 euro. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we had a "balcony". It really wasn't a balcony but... More

After reading some of the reviews I was concerned about our booking, but I was pleasantly surprised how good the hotel is. Perfectly positioned for tourists with taxi's and metro station right outside door. Our room was a good size with a terrace overlooking the market. Very quiet at night and no noise when windows are closed. Bed comfortable room... More

The rating of this hotel is quite high so we expected better standards than we received during our stay. Of course, the location is perfect, right on the doorstep of the market La Boqueria in La Rambla, the heart of Barcelona. However, it causes a lot of noise in the morning during preparation of the market. Also, the bed is... More

Before renting a room in this hotel I read that it is located in the heart of Barcelona, on THE street with shops. Well... There are indeed lots of chinese shops, street artist and thousends of tourists. Too much, too many... The hotelroom is pretty small. My bedsheets were clean but unripped and at shower i could see they don't... More

Purposely wanted hotel close to the Boqueria and as I got a great deal on this one (£70 per night) I snapped it up. Knew I would be getting the 'Travel Lodge' experience so can't really moan. Position right on the Ramblas and next to the Boqueria...Small modern hotel, breakfast very basic continental style at only 4 euros pp. Worst... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
