The hotel is nice, but it could be better. The place is a small, it is not that well located. The service is nice but the breakfast is poor. There is internet but very slow. It is nice just to go, sleep for some nights and leave. The rooms are small but okay.

I stayed at Hostal Barcelona for two nights. Hostal Barcelona offers great value for money. The room was small but clean. There was some noise from the surrounding areas. Hostal Barcelona is centrally located. I did not try the breakfast at Hostal Barcelona. There are plenty of places that serve breakfast in the surrounding areas. The staff was friendly and... More

I booked a room and the guest service sent three different e-mails to say that my room was available and to cancel the same room on the same week. After all, they said 'there are no vacancy' and the manager asked to tell me they will not have no room the dates I was wanting.

The location is really good. 20 min walk from Plaça d'Espanya where the first stop for the Aerobus is and about 20 min walk to the main attractions. The rooms are pretty modern and stylish and just big enough. The sound from the other rooms and the street is pretty easy to hear but I stayed on the first floor... More

A really nice hotel, a bit basic but everything you really need. i personally thought the room ize was ok, not massive but not exactly a shoe box. The staff we're very helpful and it was nicely located close to the metro and not too far to walk to the ramblas.

Spent one night prior to cruise and Little disappointed with hotel itself, and man who I believed was the housekeeper was actaully one of the friendliest of the staff, telling me to come back and speak to person who speaks ¨¨good english¨¨, came back to female Clerk who was not very friendly, seemed like I was bugging her with the... We stayed here 6 nights with breakfast. It is a nice, friendly hostel with good location. Rooms are not very big, but they are clean and you get clear towels and clear room every day. Every room has air condition. Breakfast is included in: bread, croissants, cakes, butter, jam, yoghurt, salami, ham, cheese, coffee, tea and fruit juice. I think... More

We stayed in a double room at the Hostal last week with another couple. On checking in we realized that our room was much smaller than the one our friends had but we decided not to change and stay in it. Basic amenities and well located the Hostal is a 15 mins walk to Ramblas and Placa Catalunya and has... More

If you have seen the "professional" photos of this hostel you probably had the impresion that the place is nice, confortable, clean.... when you come inside of the room you will se the real situation. Bed is very uncomfortable, pillow is hard and connected for two people together, room size is tiny tiny, hardly place to walk around. In the... More

Hi, First of all the area near the hotel is a little bit funky but i had no issues, also it is very good location, only a 10 minute walk down to the waterfront and the same to the ramblas. The hotel staff were always very helpful and spoke very good english, the room was also ok basic but you... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
