It's my 2nd time in this hostal and both journeys were excellent. The location is great, 15min from strategic places in the city, the neighborhood is filled with supermakets or restaurants. The best place to stay for a concert at the Apollo (2min away) ! People working there are nice and helpful, and cleanliness is 100%. The only negative point... More

Hi, Me and my husband spend 5 lovely days in Barcelona. Room was in good condition , nights was mostly quit but there was 1 weak points which would put some people off. There was no window view(this was placed against the wall) so in the room was always dark and you had to have light on all the time.... More

Stayed at Hostal Apolo for 5 nights for a city break and it was perfection. The location is very central just 15 minutes walk from central Las Ramblas and the harbour. Or if you're feeling tired from walking all day the metro stop is a 2 minute stroll away ;) The front desk was extremely helpful regarding directions and any... More

We stayed 4 nights. Cheap : yes, and so I don't care about the used walls and the broken shower but oh my god THE NOISE !! Usely I sleep like a baby everywhere but here you can't sleep from 10 pm to 2 am, after it's ok. But every door of the place is making a huge noise when... More

Stayed in Barcelona for 2 nights. Love the gothic quarter, so many niche and quint shops. Definitely do a walking tour. This place is like a budget hotel than hostel and there is no social atmosphere here. The building appears to still being renovated but this didn't affect our stay. Double room w shared bathroom was spacious with a sink... More

This place was recommended to us by a friend. Though it says ‘hostel’ in the name, it can be misleading, as this is actually much better than a hostel. I would perhaps classify it as a no-frills budget hotel, as the rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. Not the most stylish place, but for the money this was a... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
