It is impossible to sleep at night in this pension. I was waken up everyday around 5am by screaming and fighting in the street. There were also some narcomans ringing our doors in the middle of the night and then the police came. Also it is very poorly isolatred so you hear everything. Room itself was ok, but they did... We stayed for two nights late September and it was a lot better than expected. Positives: - LOCATION! We would not have gotten a better location, on La Rambla at £20 per night, having booked last minute on the day - They were nice and helpful, especially the cleaning lady who was trying to give me directions in English -... If you have done Koh Sahn Road, Bangkok, you would know this type of place. A rabbit warren of rooms, singles without windows, doors that won't close, fans that sound like 747s landing, hotter than hell, prostitutes outside. But hey, I needed a bolt-hole between arriving by plane and leaving by train, I have been to Barcelona lots already and... More

This is one of most charming hotels I've ever been. Yes, you need earplugs because of noise, but there you can feel true Barcelona's spirit. Moreover, at night you can see lot of true spanish love dramas below your narrow balcony in narrow street (connecting to Rambla). One thing - if you never listen rock music, never want anarchy in... This is by far the most unimaginable dump of a “hotel” I have ever had the misfortune of staying in. And it pretty much spoilt my stay in Barcelona, a city I have visited numerous times. Had to change rooms as the shower on the top floor didn’t work so I guess that made just one working shower for the... More

Stayed for two nights before a cruise. Ten minutes leisurely walk dragging a luggage to the Port Shuttle stop via the La Rambla walk. Third floor Reception office and rooms, no elevator. No breakfast. Clean sheets, towel and community washrooms. Free room WIFI. I didn't expect a 3 or 4 star hotel for a 15 euro per night room. For... More

What can I say? I paid on arrival then when I was shown my room I burst into tears. I say room, more like cell. The rickety old door could be opened from outside without the key! Luckily inside was a bolt and a safe. I had a balcony but the doors neither opened or shut. Not that I wanted... More

Never stay at this hostel!! My girlfriend and I were on a tight budget and were happy to stay in hostels throughout our 2 week trip throughout Europe. We booked out of this place and into a hotel within an hour. I cannot say anything good about this place apart from the location on la rambla, which also is a... More

Staying in La Rambla

Neighborhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-meter boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetizing selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
