Quirky hotel with lots of colourful dimmed lights throughout and in the room, the automatic curtains are cool. I came here with my boyfriend for a quick weekend getaway, in which he was attending a big conference the following Monday so the guests at this time were predominantly business. The rooftop is amazing, love the little pool and 360 degree... More

I've just had a lovely 5 day city break in Barcelona. I stayed at the Barcelo Raval. The hotel was good, modern, clean, nicely designed. The 360 viewing area on the roof gave excellent views of the whole city. It is close (5 minutes walk) to the famous La Ramblas and similarly close to a couple of metro stations. I... More

We have just spent a lovely 3 night break in this hotel. The check-in with Eva was flawless and very polite and helpful. On the plus side - the room was clean, the beds comfortable and it's location was perfect for the Ramblers and Metro. We had a room on the 10th floor, subsequently we suffered no external noise. My... More

Modern & comfortable hotel, decor was amazing, kept to very high standard. Barcelo hotel chain is always very good. Designer room was perfect, with amazing views over the city. We asked specially for a high floor & were put on the top floor, (10th), only the 360 terrace above us which had beautiful views from all directions. Only very small... More

This hotel was an experience. First of all, it's round, which provides for some intersting interior (and exterior) design choices. On the outside the building is covered in a metal grid, which gives it a very intersting look - also from the inside. The lobby, hallways, and rooms are characterised by light and colours, so from a design perspective, you're... More

It was nice, very modern and different to most places we have stayed before. It's shape is unique and the 360 degree terrace was superb. Really incredible views of the city. The rooms had enough room even though they were open plan, so wouldn't really recommend for business trips. Close to everything and in one of the friendlier neighbourhoods. Only... More

Great location for this hotel, about 6 minute walk from the middle section of Las Ramblas. The neighbourhood is 'up and coming' i.e. looks a bit rough in some of the back streets but no issues with crime or anything when we were there. The reception were great, fluent English and helpful, and the reception area / restaurant are really... More

Found this hotel on trip advisor and matched with the affordable cost I thought I'd give it a go! It certainly didn't disappoint! From the moment we checked in the staff were really helpful. Amazing English at reception and quickly to rectify a problem with the lock on our door and then upgraded us! The rooms are very contemporary which... More

The hotel is very chic. (stylish) I loved the style, comfort, smell and the overall hotel is beautiful. Me and my partner felt welcome, settled and comfortable while staying at the hotel. The hotel is maintained very well by the staff. The rooms are lovely and the maids refreshed our rooms daily providing clean towels and essentials. I would most... More

Had one night in the hotel and have to say I was very impressed. It's very quirky in design, a sort of funky, surreal setup which I found charming. The staff were excellent. Friendly, professional, and (for the non-Spanish speaker like myself) with a great command of English. As will all futuristic "Design" hotels, there were some fascinating quirks. For... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
