Booked this hotel because of Trpadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The hotel is close to La Rambla, metro stations, major shopping areas, the Boqueria markets and the old Barri Gothic area. You can walk down to the port or up to the expensive shopping areas north west of Placa Catalanya. A fantastic location. We booked a twin room... More

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. The hotel is located on the right-hand side of La Rambla, walking distance 2 min. From Placa Cataluya, were you can take the AeroBus to/from the airport La Prat (terminal T1 and T2 – price 6 euro/pers/oneway) walking distance 5-7 min. The Port and Barceloneta are at aprox. 20 min walking distance.... More

Great area, great staff. Caryn was always ready with information. They had a very well stocked and maintained breakfast from Anastasia. Marjulyn and Jocelyn were the happiest cleaning staff ever. And our late night ice demands were leapt to by Albert, and of course, Mateo was endlessly charming. Resonable price too. Buen trebajo.

We stayed here for a night before benicassim festival and had a great room at the front of the hotel with a big balcony. The room was big enough and the bathroom had doors out on to the balcony so it didn't get too steamy. The shower was great as well, really powerful! I also really liked the fact you... More

Dear Paula M, I would like to THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your great review! It is so great to see that you liked our front rooms with the toilet also facing the street. They are lovely! The rooms facing the backyard are a big smaller and views are not so great but they are very comfy, with double bed... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Curious from May 19 to 23 and we really enjoyed our time in Barcelona, and particularly our stay at this hotel. It was conveniently located near La Rambla, and tourist sights were easily accessible by train and bus. A big thank you to Mr Mateo, who was very friendly and helpful during our... More

About 400 yards from Liceu Metro, about 100 yards from Rambla. Small rooms, fine for a short break but perhaps a bit cramped for a week. Standard continental breakfast. The hotel do a 'Hotel Curious Card', a free card that gives discounts at some local shops, bars and restaurants. Would happily stay there again for a short break. The rooms... More

Hotel Curious had everything we could expect. The room was cosy and always clean and the location of the place was ideal : a place of rest next to the Rambla, from where we could access everything. Thanks to the team who was really helpful with always a great restaurant to recommend. We have never been disappointed. I highly advise... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in July in a double room (204). We found the location to be perfect, just steps off La Ramblas and close by to a metro stop (Liceu). We arrived early and although our rooms wasn't ready the hotel let us get changed and store our bags with them whilst we went out for the... More

When we first walked into our room we thought that it was small compared to other hotels where we have stayed. However, once we settled in our room was comfortable and clean. We had a room at the back which was very quiet. Breakfast was good. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. My wife had a massage offered... More

Location is almost ideal, only a minute from La Rambla a some 10 minutes from the old centre of the city. The hotel and rooms are very clean and staff is helpful. The room was a bit small, but we had an economy one, so cannot complain.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
