Stayed one night in the Parador at Ciudad Rodrigo and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel was excellent in all respects - very sympathetically restored castle only a few minutes walk to the main Plaza. You are able to walk along the battlements of the Parador and then relax in the hotel gardens and enjoy the views. Staff... more

We have been in several "Paradores" and this is one of the best. The place is simply amazing. A medieval castle renovated keeping its authentic flavour nonetheless and the decoration is simply . The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant was great. Parking is free of charge. more

A nice place, well signposted to reach it (not always the case in Spain!) but then one is left to search out the reception and, having checked in, baggage access is deliberately made difficult. We had a party of 8 people. The official baggage route was from the far end of the car park, about 100 yards up the cobbles... more

What a wonderful place! This medieval castle was recently renovated and it combines old and modern architecture in a delightful way. The rooms are very cosy and have excellent views of the river Agueda. Its location in the heart of Ciudad Rodrigo, a small medieval town in the province of Salamanca, is simply divine.
