Arriving on a Friday and finding our first two hotel choices and most of the city hotels booked solid for the weekend, we headed across the river to the edge of town and found the Emperatriz III. This hotel has 4 *, but I think that it only should have 2.5 *. The hotel it´s not in Salamanca, it is very far away, it´s in a industrial area, and you must take a taxi to go to the center (more or less 6€ the ride). The rooms are big, the bathrooms are clean, but all the room... more

The Good:The interior is beautiful, marble staircase, spacious salon, linen resterant, shaded park with swiming pool. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable. Huge bathroom, balcony, roomservice, A/C. The Bad: The hotel has a drab stucco exterior.It's a 45 minute walk or $4.00 euro cab ride to the Plaza Mayor.
