I've arrived to the hotel late at night, after doing almost 1000km of driving. In the beginning, I thought the GPS has sent me to the wrong place, as the old city of Salamanca is incredible at night, and I was led right into it, to a beautiful castle like structure. Lo and behold, this was the right place. Despite... more

Stayed here 2 nights after sampling other AC hotels. This seemed to be a flagship property converted with some care from the previous historic building. The standard rooms were stylish but soundproofing was poor (much worse than you'd expect for the price). You could hear noise in adjoining rooms and the echoing corridor. Bathroom walls were adorned in tacky fake... more

The hotel is beautiful and it's in a good location. The room was more or less big and clean. Nice, but the tile in the bathroom was fake, which I thought was a bit tacky for a 5 star. The minibar was free. The service wasn't 5 star. I ordered an ice-cream in the "library" and after 10 minutes the... more

We stayed at the hotel for three nights. It's location is perfect...close to the river and to the Plaza Mayor. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. The rooms are large by european standards and have a free mini-bars. The building itself is beautiful as well. more

This was our first trip to Salamanca. My husband and I, and the other couple travelling with us live in Spain, and have stayed in over 100 hotels in Spain and other parts of Europe. Coming from North America, and accustomed to the level of service and size of rooms there, we are sometimes disappointed with Spanish hotels in particular.... more

I have little to add to the other reviews here regarding the hotel's rooms, facilities, etc.—EXCEPT that my last night here turned into a traveler's nightmare, thus souring the whole of my experience. My wife and I stayed here for about 10 days on business and pleasure in January of 2007. It was on the whole a pleasant and uneventful... more

We recently stayed for a couple of nights here and found it to be a really great hotel. The building has undergone a careful conversion and is really beautiful, as is the surrounding area. It's true that there are more centrally located hotels in Salamanca, but the walk is far from arduous, passing almost all the major sights of the... more

My wife and I spent three nights at AC Palacio de San Estaban. The convention rate was 169 euros per night including taxes and breakfast. Property purported five star, but at check-in there was no porter. Front desk staff, who seemed much more concerned about looking great than actually working, condescended to help with the luggage. Breakfast was tasty, but... more

We stayed in the AC Palacio San Esteban for 4 nights in April & it was the nicest hotel we stayed in during our two weeks in Spain. Our room did not have a view but was spacious, tasteful decorated & very well equipped. The bathroom was a real treat. The public areas in the hotel were also lovely. The... more

This little hotel was a wonderful surprise. The location is perfect. You can walk to all the major attractions in the old city. The palacio was beautifully restored, but with fabulous modern conveniences. The rooms are very comfortable. The staff is kind, courteous, and extremely helpful. We only suggest that visitors arrive early for the breakfast buffet when the food... more
