We chose Hotel Rector because of the positive reviews on Trip Advisor and there are not many more superlatives to be added to either that site or the hotel’s lobby guestbook. We were warmly greeted upon our late arrival (11 PM) and, a bit travel weary, decided that we would not venture out to the nearby options, so a tray... More

It is difficult to find anything to add to what other reviewers have written. We enjoyed a 2 night stay in this hotel which is ideally located for visiting the old town, being just across the road from the city walls. We had a deluxe room which was large and very comfortable with lovely linens, fluffy towels and nice amenities.... More

Stayed for 2 nights. Lovely. Staff friendly and helpful-even retrieved hire car from public car-park and put it in theirs. Gave us (good) ideas about where to eat. From outside does not seem much. On main road just outside town but well placed. Once inside then seems a lot! Unlike some while we had room at front that was not... More

What an incredible spot. We had the most delightful stay at Hotel Rector. The staff - we met 4 - were outstanding and informed. The room was just wonderful and the housekeeping standards exceptional. Having stayed in many top hotels around the world, I can easily say that Hotel Rector is among them.

The Hotel Rector was definitely the most luxurious hotel that we stayed in during our one month in Spain. And this should be expected from a well rated hotel with a convenient location just outside one of the main entrances to the walled city of Salamanca. The hotel lived up to our expectations in every regard. Our room was very... More

We are here now needing to make a conference in Porto. The front desk has spent an hour to help us find a solution since the train nor bus go there on the weekend. Everyone here has been welcoming and helpful -whether recommendations for local food or directions on how to get somewhere. Location is perfect for visiting the old... More

We booked two nights at Hotel Rector and enjoyed exceptionally helpful and considerate service. When we arrived we parked our car outside and were immediately greeted by name and an offer to park our car. The lady on reception talked us thorough the main attractions and later gave us restaurant recommendations for both nights that turned out to be very... More

We only had one night to stay in Salamanca and wanted a nice stay near the old town. The reviews were right, this hotel was perfect. It started with our check in by Teresa who is a gem of a person. She seemed genuinely interested in getting us settled in, and then made some excellent recommendations of places to eat... More

Echoing many of the previous comments here... Wonderful service from the first call to reserve a room right to checking out. After a long hot day driving got stuck in the wrong underground parking lot next door...totally my fault. From the moment we called for help, Julian and the Hotel Rector staff took charge and not only solved the problem... More

This is a superb hotel. Family owned and managed, with a dedicated staff overlooking all the operations of a small number of rooms. Service is old school: front desk seems to know what you want before you can ask it, ladies in black dresses and white aprons, speaking in whispers only, laundry is not dumped on your bed in plastic,...
