Hostal Plaza Mayor is less than 100 metres from the famous Plaza Mayor, so the location is perfect. Salamanca is a marvellous city and all its major sights can be reached on foot from here. The hotel's other big plus is its low price--amazing in view of its location. Reception is friendly and helpful, and our room was quiet. However,... More

Good location. Family run business with great helpful hosts. Rooms are small and basic but comfortable. If you stay here its best to eat at places slightly away from the plaza mayor. The owner is a older gentleman who speaks only spanish and is extremely polite.

Perfect location. Arriving by car, there's a space 50 meters away to unload and the garage is just around the corner. 24-hour a day reception. We had a room at the back so no noise at all. The few steps up to the lobby aren't that bad! Really. The young man at the desk when we arrived spoke Spanish, English,... More

We stayed here for one night. While the hotel is quote basic, the location was outstanding. Literally on the doorsteps of Plaza Mayor, you couldn't ask for a better spot. The room was basic, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom adequate. We stayed for one night. If i were to stay any longer then two i would choose somewhere... More

Booked for 4 nights as part of a tour of Spain. Had asked for a quiet room as had read reviews about noise at the front, but the room we were allocated was stuffy and had a frosted window which opened out onto a heat extractor with a constant hum. The staff were really good about letting us relocate to... More

We stayed at this Hotel last week and it was marvelous. Oscar on reception was very friendly and did his very best to say everything in English for us which was a relief because not many Spanish people we have found want to try speaking English and our Spanish is terrible! We had a lovely front room with double opening... More

The staff at this hotel were excellent. My son and I stayed here for a few nights in February. Our room was small but very clean. We needed a place to park the rental car and they were very helpful in getting us to and from their parking garage. We had no problem with noise from the Plaza and loved... More

It can be a bit dispiriting when you arrive, especially if you've got a lot of luggage, to find you have to climb a steep flight of steps just to get to reception, but after that it's fine. Excellent position just a few yards from the Plaza and right in the middle of the old town, a big room (at... More

We stayed two nights at this Hostal. What a great value. It is right off Plaza Mayor so the location couldn't be better. The windows were doubled and were very effective in keeping out the noise. Even though this is not a fancy place and the rooms are on the small side, it is very clean and pleasantly furnished. There... More

We stayed four nights at this hostal and it was friendly, clean and secure. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Even during Semana Santa it wasn't over-priced. As others have said, very convenient for the Plaza Mayor and just about everything else too.
