We stopped here for one night. The room was spacious and uncluttered (bare), but this is a good thing when you want space to put your back pack down and sort through it. The staff seem to be a family group, 3 generations. The son speaks some English, but the father none. The kids running around were just being kids.... More

The hotel is quite adequate for pilgrims on the Camino. However the in house children are out of control yelling and screaming and jumping over counters, etc. When we called to complain we were hung up on with the words "I Don't understand you. We heard the phone ring two other times before the obnoxious children were quiet. I have... More

I enjoyed my stay here. On the camino, when you enter the main part of town, you'll see a map that charts all the hotels, albergues, monastery, tiendas and farmacia in the village. You'll see that Gaspar is at the very end. Given that the city is small, it's no problem to walk to the other end of town. It... More

We had walked about 14 miles from Astorga, had visited the Maragato villages along the way, and arrived in this lovely picturesque village. The hotel was at the end of town a bit uphill - aren't they all when you are walking? - which I like because I have a good AM start at the beginning of Camino the next... More

After a good day on the Camino, nothing like checking into a hotel where the desk clerk is downright grumpy. The room itself was very noisy as you could hear load voices and dishes clattering coming from the bar. Next morning the grumpy man was working behind the bar, coughing openly and blowing his nose while he half-heartedly took care... More

At the end of the Main Street this stone building immediately looks the part. Early checkin was ok (thanks) and appreciated after a day on the Camino. The room (201) is probably the biggest I have had. The bathroom is well equipped although it takes a little while for hot water to find its way through those old stone walls.... More

The old man who (I think) owns this hotel is very grumpy. He cannot crack a smile no matter how pleasant you are to him. However, his (children ?) are the opposite. Very pleasant. The room are quite nice. the building is old, authentic, and quite charming - especially with the courtyard area. The meal was good too.

Located at the end of the village the views are nice from the clean rooms. Staff is polite, everything was pretty normal, the outside terrazzo was closed and full of leaves at the end of the season but it was a cooler day so it wasn't a problem. The restaurant was fine and no problems of any types.

The above rooms were on the 3rd. floor with no lift and were low ceiling attic where you could not walk around the beds without bending over double. My room which was 304, there was had no wardrobe and the commode which was on the lowest side of the room, I could not access it without being on all fours.... More
