This hotel is located in one of the most beautiful buildings you can imagine, which used to be a monastery in the 16th century. Not only is it magnificent from the outside but it's also full of magical spaces such as the cloister, the lobby, the common areas,... It's located by the river and clearly signposted. It's not right in... More

This is a hotel with some real character, located in a beautiful 16th century building that was originally a monastery. The hotel has been decorated with antique furniture and paintings in the common areas. The rooms keep up the theme, with pseudo-medieval hangings behind the bed for example. The rooms are not medieval in that they are comfortable and reasonably... More

This hotel, impressive in size, history, and lovely amazing facade, is in need of a major renovation. Dark, 1970's rooms, loooong hallways, slow front desk, messed up reservation, it was a disappointment. We enjoyed walking around town, beautiful buildings swathed in flowers, watching a concert in the Plaza Major, viewing the Spanish old-timers dressed so impeccably and strolling around town... More

This was my first stay in a Parador in Spain. My wife and I drove from Portugal to stay here and the building is amazing. The hotel itself is ok, decent rooms, not particularily comfortable beds but walking around the parador is lovely. It had free parking and internet which was a bonus. The food is definitely over priced for... More

All the Paradors and Pousadas are special, but this is one of the best. The facade of the building is simple spectacular. If you feel like splurging for a special occasion, check out the Torreon room. It is in the tower of the old part of the building, overlooking the roman bridge over the river on one side, and the... Stunning front to the building which is half a museum with cloisters open to the public. Upstairs above the cloisters is resident guests only. Sit out there after dinner on a balmy evening with your wifi laptop and soak up the atmosphere. Most bedrooms in a modern wing added to the back of the building but lounges/restaurant etc are in... After staying on the Parador of Santiago de Compostela, me and my family stoped at Leon on our way trough Madrid. Again we had a very pleasant experience here, but with best values than Santiago de Compostela. The rooms were also greats and the hotel is located at a nice square. The service was pretty good just like the food.... More

Wonderful building with another stunning facet around every corner. Great service and superb food. Make sure you get a room in the old part and find time to enjoy drinks on the tranquil terrace under the trees. More
