A huge historic building with a wealth of history that is well documented on plaques all around the public areas. The public areas are sympathetically furnished to a very high standard and the building includes peaceful cloisters. The staff were very efficient and welcoming. Our room was very adequate in a large extension built on the back of the hotel.... More

Our room was nothing like the ones showed in "The Way." The building is huge and impressive. The food is excellent. Our room was down a long, long, beat-up hallway that was a little spooky. The room was large and comfortable but the furniture was just old and beat-up and faded. I like old stuff, but this was just junky... More

After walking 500 km/300 miles of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, sleeping with 20-60 other assorted pilgrims in municipal albergues, I felt that I would deserve a treat so I booked a room here. I actually arrived a day early but they made every effort to give me the same room at the same price for an extra night.... More

On the camino, I decided it was time for a nice hotel so stayed here for 2 nights. For the first night I was given a pilgrams rate of 102 euro. The 2nd night was charged at 119 euro. Overall the place was quite nice. The building is very interesting and our room was fairly big and clean. One thing... More

Beautiful building and after almost a month on the camino it was a wonderful break! Breakfast was delicious with a good variety. Room wasn't overly fantastic but the grand building made up for it. My friend had an uncomfortable mattress but anything that isn't a squeaky old bunk bed is regal for me!

From our experience overpriced and overrated. Would not recommend stay here if you are doing the Camino de Santiago and staying one night. Areas exclusive to guests is a nonsense, you can walk in off the street and access all areas. We found that the good rooms were not offered, given the furthest room in the hotel so had even... More

As you approach the hotel you cannot but be in awe of the size and magnificence of the building. Parking at the rear of the hotel is secure and under cover. Inside, however, the hotel is tired and rooms are comfortable but a lot of money could be spent on improvements. Lunch on the leafy terrace was enjoyable as we... More

OK, so the rooms round the back are standard issue Parador, a bit tired, but spacious and comfortable, but the building which contains them is truly spectacular, and worth the visit anyway. Great value for money too. Decent breakfast.

Loved everything about this historical building: service, food, rooms, and the outdoor plaza area. Staff is helpful. Although restaurant can get a bit pricey. If you're waking the camino and want more options, definitely visit Plaza Mayor. Awesome bars and restaurants and great place for people watching! Also they charge more than 2 euros for a bottled water and the... More

This hotel is beautiful and the rooms are too. Its walking distance to all main attractions. It has beautiful art work all over the hotel and you can not miss its claustro. You feel like you are transported to the past with all its glory.
