We’d heard about the unique historic features of the second Parador we’d booked (after a wonderful stay a few years earlier at La Granja near Segovia), but we were still unprepared when we arrived on foot after a stroll from the main train station. The façade is among the most beautiful of any hotel we’d ever seen, much less stayed... More

This is a really nice hotel, though it is a tad worn in places and showing its age. The rooms are comfortable, with a great restaurant for peregrinos (best breakfast I've had in Spain to date). The cloisters are a great spot, and the hotel offers a pilgrim's rate. The hotel is close to the old town, about a 15... More

We had planned to stay 1 night and move on to our next parador in Lerma. But this historic city and hotel were so super the staff managed to cancel our next night so we could spend 2 days in Leon. There is lots to see and do in this beautiful city. Also, the hotel is massive and they offer... More

Stunning hotel in a huge monestario. The hotel is elegant and our room was very large and nicely decorated. We had a nice little balcony. It is beautiful to walk around the cloisters that are part of the Parador. Breakfast was good and the price for B&B was exceptional!!! You could not get better value. The front desk staff were... We were on our way to Asturias and spent a night at this Parador. We were greeted by a very nice staff. We were offered an upgrade to a suite on the old building. Our suite had 2 huge rooms and decorated with an old style. Our rooms faced the "plaza" right in front. The bathroom very big an confortable.... More

This was our first Parador experience and it came on the heels of a dreadful experience in. B&B. So now we are Parador fans if they are all like this! Beautiful old building, great and caring staff and not expensive. The room was well appointed and had a most comfortable bed.(we slept in until 8.30am) Isobel insisted on having breakfast here... Stayed for 2 nights. A fascinating place to stay and not nearly as expensive as you may think. You can spend a good half day exploring the parador and its history. Everything is first class. The staff very helpful. We cannot do justice to the restaurant meals therefore we had items on the bar menu which were most enjoyable. A... More

This hotel is located in the centre of the city and ideally situated to explore Leon. Parking is so easy and at the rear of the building. We have no complaints about room, breakfast or service and really enjoyed our stay. Definitely worth exploring the old monastery. As with most Paradores, it has been wonderfully restored and stylishly fitted. Leon... More

Stunning building well adapted to a large hotel. Cloisters were nice but not utilised for bar/resturant as in other paradors. Small shaded bar was the only outside space. Our room was in the 1960s extention so once in that annex it wwas pretty much like any other commercially run hotel. Public areas were amazing but as this is also a... More

We spent just one night there. Beautiful facade, monumental part of the building (once a monastery) is worth a visit and has a rather gruesome history. The hotel behind the monastery is less beautiful but comfortable nonetheless. The parador is on the river, a charming area, within walking distance from the absolute highlight of the city: the gothic cathedral. All... More
