Read the reviews and decided to pay a visit. Mercedes and Maximo are special people it was a pleasure to meet them. On arrival i asked for some hot water Mercedes provided a kettle for our room. The evening meal was fantastic. Met a few of the people doing the carmino . The tales i heard of their ailments caused... More

After a long day's walk from Leon which included getting very wet!, I found this wonderful place with the most wonderful hosts Mercedes and Maximo. After a very welcome cold beer I was shown to my wonderful room. The whole place is just full of stuff and decor that makes it both unique and makes it more like your ideal... More

Mercedes and Maximo can not be outdone. Their hospitality is the best we have ever experienced. The accommodations were great, the meals Mercedes and Maximo prepared were delicious. If you are walking El Camino de Santiago and want to take a break from the hostals and albergues, this is the place to do it. I highly recommend this place.

We had such a delightfully unique experience at Molino Galochas. After arriving we enjoyed a delicious home cooked dinner and then slept in the "Honeymoon Cottage". We watched the pilgrims depart to continue their walk on the Camino, before enjoying an excellent breakfast. Mercedes, our host, was so enthusiastic and so eager to help and please. She provided us with... More

Mercedes and Maximo were superb hosts. When we arrived after a 31+km walk with a large blister I was offered a cool drink, encouraged to relax and soak my feet in a basin of cool water. After a shower Maximo drove us to the Centro de Salud so that I could get my foot seen to. Mercedes took me back... More

I stumbled upon this in my walk of the Camino in October 2013 - trying to find a way to break up an otherwise long walk - what a wonderful find. Mercedes and her husband could not have been more welcoming, helpful and fabulous if they had tried! The situation is excellent and really there was nothing one could have... More

Mercedes came to fetch us from Villar de Mazerife and made us feel so welcome in her home. Rooms were spotless, dinner was fine home cooking ( red peppers from her garden), along with a bottle of Cava to celebrate a fellow pilgrim's birthday. Absolutely gorgeous setting, and truly hospitable people.

This place is truly stunning. What a gorgeous friendly couple and what an amazing place they have renovated here. After a VERY hot and long day on the camino we truly found an oasis. The dinner was one of the best of our whole visit to Spain, I am vegetarian and that was absolutely no trouble (unlike some of the... More

This Casa Rural is really special. We stayed for one night in June when we were walking part of the Camino de Santiago . Mercedes and her husband have a beautiful home and you feel their warmth from the moment you arrive. We were offered water and beer for free, a chilled glass and some crackers , very welcome after... This property requires extra effort on the Camino, but worth every extra step! It is a beautifully restored home and you are welcomed with the attention of a family member and friend. It is peaceful, pastoral, and perfect! The owners know their business: make the pilgrim and traveler feel at home! Immediately you are welcomed with something to drink, and... More
