This is a lovely hotel, situated in a very quiet street in the old part of the city - it has its own spa and feels very up market. Sadly when we visited this weekend, the bar was not open, but we very much look forward to going back soon.

The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The property is beautiful and in the center of the city. Very close to the cathedral and walking distance of most sights. We had little chocolates in our room and a personal welcome letter. Also we enjoyed the little cookie snacks in the lobby. We were able to park in front of the... More

Restaurant and bar closed when we got there. 5 star and no services. No room service, limited in room bar. Still charges normal rate. Receptionist apologised but said its quiet this time if year in Toledo. Toledo beautiful place and one for winter but this part time hotel is not worthy of 5 star. It's 2 star service and faculties.Breakfast... More

Our family of four (two teenage sons) spent two nights in this hotel. We were really looking forward to a luxury stay, as the photos we've seen show the elegant lobby area under the glass ceiling. My husband and i had booked the Junior Suite and had requested a balcony. We were placed in a room with no balcony, but... More

We decided to stay a night in Toledo as a change of pace from Madrid. Very easy to get to on the train and got a taxi to this hotel – we’d never have found it on our own! The Fontecruz describes itself as the old ‘Palace of Empress Eugenia’, but once inside the hotel, other than a couple of... More

On our second to last night of our one month drive around Spain we decided to stay in this hotel. It was easy to find ( not a given in Spain) and they had a parking space for us, on site. They gave us an upgrade to a suite which was perfect in every way. Breakfast was superb as was... More

The physical plant is elegant. Looks recently renovated and everything is immaculate. The "Junior Suite" is actually just one reasonable size room -- I certainly wouldn't want to be in anything smaller, so I wonder about the other rooms. The A/C is silent and effective. The free wi-fi speed is about 3MB but intermittently too unstable to support Skype, probably... More

We were upgraded to a suite and it was astounding. Converted from a former palace associated with a wife of Napoleon (not sure which one) the ceilings were high and gave the rooms an incredible sense of space. The room was massive and very well appointed. We almost needed binoculars to watch the TV at the other end of the... More

This hotel is off the beaten track, in the old city of Toledo. So no tourists or busses at your doorstep. The rooms are spacious, light and luxurious. We felt at home right away;-). The staff speaks English and are a great help for questions about 'what to see in Toledo'. The atmosphere in the hotel is nice, very tranquil.... More
