Best location in town. Within walking distance from all the major sights, an extra attraction is the evenings when all the groups of daytrippers from Madrid are gone and the street is more like a village where all the locals know everybody (including you) and seems to be actual family. Cheap, but ain't worth it. At the arrival, we learnt that the hostal employee was also (or mainly) the employee of the gift shop situated underneath the hotel. It means no service at all because she couldn't help at the hotel, occupied all day long selling souvenirs... The wifi didn't work and the area was so noisy we couldn't sleep.... More

We found this little gem by accident as we were looking for another hotel that we was closed. It was meant to be as Pedro and his wife were the most hospitable hosts and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We stayed at Hostal Santo Tome for one night in September 2008. We paid 51.40 euros + 11.21 euros (parking) + 7% VAT for one twin room for 2 people, breakfast not included. Recently refurbished hostal in a great location in the heart of the old town. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, all spotlessly clean. Excellent value. Extremely friendly and helpful owners - parked the car in the garage for us and went to great lengths to explain our route down to the Costa Blanca. With the window open it was a noisy first... More
