Loved the location just at the foot of the escalators to the city. There were 48 steps to get into the reception area which can create a challenge with luggage. Some rooms had a lot of light and some rooms were quite dark. The water coming out of the pipes was slightly discolored so we drank bottled water. The room... More

Overnight stay beginning of July, the hotel is very well situated next to the outdoor electric escalators that lead to the city centre. There is a public car park at the entrance, which is free between 19.00 hrs and 09.00 hrs, if this is full an underground pay car park is 200 metres away. The hotel is the old cardenals... More

Pluses - Gorgeous old hotel in great location and pretty easy to find. Good rooms. Wonderfully atmospheric restaurant with good food. Really very good value for the location and atmosphere. Minus - Lucky to get parking out front but if not public car park opposite. Difficult to get into hotel with a lot of bags, lots of steps and no... More

Built into the city walls, this a a beautiful building, with a lovely garden and an unexpectedly good restaurant. The room was perfect, great bed with AC that I actually had to turn down in July. Lovely little balcony, and the bathroom had a bidet. Now that's civilization. As others have noted, it's quite a climb from where the taxi... More

This is a lovely old building but it is quite hard to get cases in and out as there are 50 big steps and a cobbled path to Reception. The bedroom was comfortable but on the small side. Breakfast was served in a beautiful small dining room but was not topped up, so late comers did not have a good... More

Just returned from four nights here. The building is a wonderful, old-style Spanish house set in lovely gardens in which there is a bar and restaurant. Our room on the ground floor overlooked the gardens and was clean, comfortable and quiet (despite a late wedding party in the garden!) and with a good quality bed. The only improvement would be... While not perfect it has a lot of historic character and charm and an excellent place if staying overnight in Toledo (which is highly recommended). An easy and short cab ride from the train station and nestled at the base of the city's hill. A beautiful courtyard where you can relax and a smaller inner courtyard if the weather is... More

We found Hotel del Cardinal quite easily on our arrival in Toledo. Situated on the edge of old town walls it was fairly straightforward to spot. We parked outside in the small public car park and after consulting with the staff member we moved few meters up the road to the underground parking that had a deal with the hotel... More

Tricky to find but once there it is well placed for parking and the 6 esculators that take you up to the old city. The Hotel is comfortable and full of antiques and places to sit and relax but has a few surprisingly irritating minuses. The rooms are fine but missing a fridge or a place to make a late night... More

We had a great deal of fun finding this hotel which is just past the Biagra Gate - unfortunately, we must have counted the exits from roundabouts incorrectly and had a whale of a time driving through the narrow streets of the Old Town - but all was well in the end as some locals felt pity on us and...
