Stayed with family of 4. Room was on floor "-3" which seemed a dark dungeon floor. Room was a bit musty. However we realized the windows did open onto the street and with the AC on, we refreshed the air of the room easily. Location is great on east side of old Toledo, so walkable to most main sites, and... More

Toledo is a wonderful day trip for many, but if you really want to explore this medieval town, this hotel in the city is wonderful! It has charm, suits of armor and incredible views if you get a room on the backside of the hotel overlooking the cathedral. At night, the view is breathtaking since the cathedral is lit up.... More

Wonderful old world charm, full of stunning elements from older times - the furniture in the rooms, the suits of armour and the decoration, the chairs in the Castillo bar, the locks in the high shutters in each room and yet a perfectly laid out brightly lit breakfast room with an impressive array of dishes including gluten-free bread and biscuits,... I will agree with other reviewers quite significantly rating this hotel very high for the location. Rooms were average sized with some view and comfortable beds. If you get a room on the backside of the hotel then it's better to forget about wifi connectivity (although they advertise its available freely everywhere in hotel premises). The breakfast buffet seemed ill-organised... More

I was in Toledo last week and I stayed in this nice Hotel. All the staff and the recepcion were really nice with me and they always tried to help me when I need it. The room was lovely, very clean with a modern style. The Hotel location is good, everything is very handy and,in addition, " El Greco" exibition it's just... More

Location, location, location ... That just about sums up the Hotel Alfonso VI. Located right opposite the Alcazar, at probably the highest point in the old city and just a few minutes' walk to the centre of this magnificent town, you could not ask for a better spot in Toledo. The rooms are comfortable, large and clean. We opted for... More

Just returned from a group holiday with The TravelDepartment. Position wonderful Rooms clean and ours was at back and had a wonderful view Understaffed but helpful enough However - our group was on half board and I can honestly say that it was the poorest food I have ever been set up at a hotel in all my holidays in... We have just returned from a long weekend at the Alfonso VI, which is ideally placed at the highest part of the old town and across the road from the Alcázar de Toledo and minutes from the Calle Commercio [the main shopping street] and local bars & cafes. Don Quixote references are all around, and swords and suits of armour... More

We took a fly drive holiday, hiring a car in Madrid and driving to the wonderful vibrant city of Toledo. Our hotel, Alfonso VI was perched at the top of the hill opposite the military museum, and a short walk to the park and other amenities. A small hotel, but beautifully run by kind and helpful staff, our comfortable and... More

I did not book this hotel myself, it was an arrangement by tour. This hotel has a gimmick of Medieval decorations. I was given a room facing the street. The major problem was no air-conditioning. However, there was air-conditioning in the lobby, but not the rooms. I complainted to the reception desk and the manager explained that it was hotel... More
