We had 2 rooms adjoining across a lovely patio with a view of the beautiful roofs of Toledo. We, the parents, had a room with a bathroom that had a smell coming from a floor drain that was almost nauseating. Had it not been for the view, we would have moved hotels. The patio was so lovely we got a... more

what can I say, staff were clearly tired, as was the hotel, however the room was very nice, with a great view over the town, we slept well, but arrriving at breakfast at 9o/c it looked like a plague of locusts had beaten us to it. I would not stay there again. more

By the time we arrived in Toledo we had been robbed twice(once in the Barcelona train station, and again on the Madrid metro-lambs to the slaughter!). Then, the second day in Toledo I twisted my ankle. The Alfonso VI was the perfect place to lick our wounds. We were determined not to allow our trip to be spoiled, and were... more

Staying at the Alfonso VI was like living in Dante's Hell. The staff are rude, rude, rude. The beds are concrete. It is impossible to sleep because every single noise in the hotel can be heard, magnified. The breakfast buffet is inedible. Indeed all we had on the second morning was water! Avoid this place. more

We were attracted to this hotel by prior reviews on Trip Advisor indicating that it was centrally located. The hotel is pleasant, if not warm and inviting, and its location was indeed very central (though a bit of an uphill walk from the main square). The hotel seems to be very old and has a charming restaurant and lounge downstairs.... more

It is right at the top of the town at the Alcazar and every day you've got to climb back up the hill to get to it. The 'Medieval' theme hides worn out furniture. Food leaves much to be desired. No toiletries left in rooms - you have to keep asking for them. Four star rated but no better than... more

Rooms are old, deteriorated, decoration ugly, personnal not friendly, more than a four star hotel, I felt I was in a "Pension". I understand Europe is the old continent and that its charm is just that: old things. But it would not hurt to renew this hotel , and when you are paying more than 130 euros for a room... more

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in June 2006. The hotel is brilliantly located and it is a short walk through narrow cobbled streets to the main tourist attractions. Restaurants and tapas bars are all close by. The rooms are very tyipcal of many hotels in Spain - dark wood furniture with twin beds and, if I... more

We ended up staying here at the last minute. The staff was very accomodating and pleasant. It was an outstanding location, right next to the Alcazar. Very charming shops and restaurants within walking distance along with cathedral. The rooms were very charming and great accomodations along with great views. I would definetely return here! more

The night staff are the best, like the caring uncles watching out for you. The decor is definitely retro, the reading lamps has dingleballs on them and every floor has full suits of armor on display, with maps, etc. The shop next door and dining room are jam packed with even more. This is right across from the Alcazar's brand... more
