My husband and I stayed at Hotel Colon in August. I like the place but at first I was surprised that I had to use stairs to our room in the 3rd fl. Then I didn't expect to not having an air condition nor TV. Well, this would be a really lay back vacation. Fortunately we had a window looking over the park and the beach of Sardinero which was lovely. But again since the window was opened, to get some fresh air, I couldn't sleep well at night because of the noise (buses, motorcycles, and people hanging out). The small tables on the terrace were quite dangerous for adult especially children. I almost hit my shin on those sharp design (ouch!). Overall I like the hotel though, because it was a lovely old building with nice touch on the decoration. It was also in front of the nice park and a huge beach. If you want to stay there, make sure you bring cash.
