Great location near the sea but in general, bad experience. Awful service starting from the reception desk, unprofessional, sloppy and rude. The "do not disturb" sign on the door was also ignored by the staff. The rooms are in need of refurbishment since they are clearly outdated. Bathroom was large but unfortunately in my case, not properly cleaned. First time... More

Stayed for two nights on a short break with Britany Ferry's. We found the hotel to be clean and the room was very nice with a great view overlooking the sea. The breakfast was continental but they did have bacon and scrambled eggs to keep us Brits happy. Having said that the choice of food would have been enough for... More

I have never stayed in a place where I felt that the reception staff was so rude. In the 4 or 5 people we encountered at the front desk I don't think one smiled at us once. They seemed to be put off by having to assist you. Told them on arrival we were their for the convention and asked... More

Just back from a fabulous week in the Silken Rio, we were upgraded to a sea view room with the help of Mario and his co worker in back office, many thanks Mario, it made the holiday to wake up every morning and see the amazing views. Santander itself is great, lots of cafes along the prom and very relaxing.... More

This hotel is more suited to the business traveller as there are no comfortable holiday areas inside, i.e. no comfortable sitting area downstairs or in bedrooms, the cafeteria is all "hard" seating. The reception staff were not in the least "welcoming", even to their own countrymen, although they were very efficient. A Spanish phrasebook is a must in this part... More

This hotel is a ten minute max taxi ride from the Continental Ferry Port in Santander and is located opposite the El Sardinero Beach , also five minutes walk from La Magdalena Park with its lovely walkways , sea-lions and seals and coves and beaches. Our room was very extremely comfortable and clean - we wanted a restful holiday and... More

I travelled to Santander for a friend's wedding and the location of this hotel was ideal, being a stone throw away from the venue. However, we were disgusted by the rooms and service in this supposedly 4 star hotel. We were allocated to a 'smoking room' despite there being no function to select a non smoking room when booking. The... More

Small rooms, OK food, dodgy elevator and poor sound insulation. Why stay at all? It's across the road from the beach. If you're in Santander for any other reason however, I'd recommend to look elsewhere...i.e. a place more suited to the business traveler. More
