After reports of heavy snow north of Madrid we were glad that we decided to book a last minute overnight stay in Santander to be certain of reaching the ferry port in good time. Hotel Chique was our port in the storm although being out of season probably not at it's best. Our room was light, airy, clean and well appointed, the views from... More

This hotel is situated at the tip of the Santander plaja. It offers majestic views of the sunrise, the sunset, the never ceasing waves of the Cantabrian sea continuously mesmerizing and captivating your attention. It is not only that. There are many locals who come to the hotel's cafeteria to have a drink and enjoy the sea, the place is... More

Following stay at Hotel De Oso (see separate review) we stayed at this hotel. Totally different. Only one waiter smiled in fact one was so miserable he would make Victor Meldrew the life and sole of a party. The food was plentiful in variety and quantity but of a supermarket quality and the fresh orange for breakfast was more like... More

Hotel Chiqui is perfectly situated for an expansive view of Santander's Sardinero Beach. Be sure to book a room with a balcony or you'll miss the primary reason for staying here! To access the beach, just walk back four minutes along the street that borders the beach; you'll find a stairway/ramp down to the beach itself. Good people-watching here! We... More

We stayed for 4 nights in early October with 6 of us. Our adjacent rooms had fantastic views looking out over the bay towards Magdalena. Great location for a beach holiday as long as you don't mind the pleasant walk or short bus ride to the town centre. The walk to the lighthouse from the hotel was lovely. We ate... More

Chiqui Hotel, Santander: On our recent visit to Santander we decided to stay at Hotel Chiqui. We were not disappointed. It is a very short drive from the ferry port, just over two miles. The hotel is situated at the end of the bay facing the lovely Sardinero beach extending to almost two miles. We booked a large room for... More

Our first stop on our tour of Cantabria and Asturias did not disappoint. We had a great room with a balcony overlooking the fabulous Sardinero beach. The hotel is the last hotel on the bay, very quiet and ideally placed for a walk around the bay. Impressed that the hotel provided beach towels free of charge. Would love to go... More

We booked it through Tripadviser partner Logitravel for one night. They gave us a sea view room without being asked, and also a free parking spot we had not expected. The reception staff were exceptionally informative and attentive. There is a well-functioning and good value cafeteria for breakfast. It is not in the town centre, but it only took us... More

The Chiqui is located right on the waterfront with amazing view. Try getting a room with a balcony for that extra experience of having a place to sit and enjoy the view. Not all rooms have AC but if you open the window or door to the balcony it's cool enough. Breakfast buffet is really nice.
