Met up with Sylla (TA member) in PdlC yesterday and she asked if we could go to El Monasterio as she thought it was GustoVino who had mentioned it in a previous post.
We found it just off the TF5 at the Loro Parque exit (36) and then a short distance off the next roundabout on the right-hand side. Less than 10 mins from PdlC.
It is a really beautiful place, 5 restaurants (Posh, Informal, Wine Cellar type and those for large parties and of course a Mirador which is where we went for the views) and many other old buildings, lots of animals around, small horses, chickens, ducks, peacocks, a couple of ponds and a small lake. The views are magnificent and the food is pretty good too. Lunch for 4 being €80 including puddings, drinks and coffees. My only criticism is that the mixed vegetables were from the freezer rather than fresh, other than this well worth a visit - if only for a coffee and one of their wonderful cakes.
