The hotel is high above the town centre of Puerto de la Cruz and you get wonderful views from the 1st floor up. It’s a steep slope or alternatively steps to get into town from the hotel, which may cause problems if you have mobility issues. The helpful and friendly staff really make the hotel. I emailed the hotel before... More

My husband and I have just spent a wonderful week at el Tope. I have nothing but good comments about this lovely traditional hotel. If you appreciate an ultra modern high rise hotel this is not the one for you. We arrived at 2300 hours and were not expecting any service in the hotel other than to be shown straight... More

Stayed at the El Tope as our usual hotel in PDLC.. the H10 Tenerife Playa wasnt available. The staff were all freindly, the hotel was clean and the food was okay, but we wont be returning to the El Tope. We were allocated a room below reception which seems to be common for Thomson guests. Before we arrived we were... More

Booked online with Thomson as a late deal opting for a standard room, we were allocated room 032,two floors down from reception. The hotel and room may look a little dated but was clean and comfortable and everything worked well, fridge air con etc.The view from our room was panoramic as despite being in the lowest part of hotel we were... rooms old tired and moldy, not 4 star more like 2 star, the building work now taking place means sitting around pool is less than peaceful. The staff try hard and the restaurant is good with choice and variety. The walk to the beach is not for anyone who is old or unfit. We stayed in room 34 and asked... More

My husband and I returned on 14 October afer spending a week at this hotel. We had paid extra for a superior room and got a sea view first floor room. Great we thought on Tuesday evening but by 8am on Wednesday morning when we were awakened to the sound of drills and lump hammers smashing tiles above our heads... More
