Santa Catalina Hotel is an old beauty. She has has her gems, ---- and som wrinkles. Go there and enjoy it. It´s lovely. Be aware, that the old water system will have a pressure-problem on the upper floors. That will give you sudden cold water when you take your shower in the morning. If you have a musical ear, you... There was a time when I would have given this place a '5' but certainly not for my recent stay. It is a cool old place for sure and the rooms (jr suites on the corner) are quite nice. But… in the past we were given a welcome fruit bowl and complementary water. Not now. It is even hard to... More

This is a 5* hotel and deserves its rating, but reliance on old Colonial charm will not win over everyone. The service was only 5* in certain places, but the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant food was a limited menu, but excellent quality, and would not suit all visitors if you had to eat there each... More

if you like to think if Humphrey Bogart might show up in the bar at night, then your right at this old refurbished place. I did not had a nice room and it smelled not well but my co-travelers had. The hallway, the lobby, the restaurant, the bar...like in the movies. The breakfast far away from a business 5*. For... More

When the taxi driver did arrive at the hotel he told us that “the Santa Catalina Hotel is the best hotel of Las Palmas”. Our first impression was good as you enter the nice garden in front of the historic building. As the hotel is on the other sides surrounded by the Doramas public park with fountains and even a... Beautiful entrance and ample underground parking. Rooms were clean and good sized. We had a lovely central top floor balcony room overlooking the front gardens and port. Nice free spa and gym for guests. Never ate dinner here, breakfast was standard. Taxi rank on site - €4 taxi to old or new town for drinks/restaurants. Perfect hotel for a couple... More

Naaaah... This place is marketed an old establishment, and old it is. Elevators are small and squeaky. Rooms relatively small and had some strange smell. It was a storm of the night of our visit and the windows and exterior walls sounded just like they would collapse or break any second (back home in Sweden we live oceanfront and are... More

Not about the hotel but the in-house restaurant 'La Terrazza' Reasonable restaurant but not worth staying in for. The grouper fish was partly cooked. House wine did not do justice to the phrase 'house wine' and as for dessert, the soufflé was deeply profound and failed to rise above the dish line. It looked and tasted like a cup cake... More

We really loved the hotel, very beautiful, and spacious bedrooms. Good location at 4.5 km from beach Las canteras, and 4.5 km from old town. Taxis are very cheap (Euro 4.50 each way). The outdoor bar is very pleasant too. The staff very efficient and pleasant. We will return.

I really loved staying at this hotel. It was like sitting in the bar in an Agatha Christie film or Casablanca, and the excellent staff added to the feeling of old grandeur. Buffet breakfast was excellent and extensive and in such a pleasant room. Lunch and evening menus were excellent. We started with a problem with the aircon in our... More
