I stayed there for one week in March 2011. That`s true, that they give key from main door and reception doesn`t wokr all the time. Room was ok. Clean. But i don`t know about other rooms. The hostal is about 15 min walk from main beach.

I Stayed in this Hostal only one night and everything was quite ok besides me getting a bed bugs bites from that one night. That ruined my whole trip! Not sure how clean this hostal must be. Also there is only one shower on the floor with about 4 rooms or more.
I had a confirmed booking and prepaid part of it via Hostelworld. The reception was closed and remained so during my waiting of 3 hours. Locals told me that this happened moreoften: the hostal overbooks, gives every guest a key of the frontdoor and then close the reception. Hostelworld did not react to my complaint and claim.
Stayed in February-2011 for 1 week.
"+": price (19/night), closeness to the centre (ca 10 min walk from a rather safe area, I'd say), small but personal room, clean shared bathroom, WC and kitchen, very kind staff.
"-": noise from the streets as the road's just near by. Don't remember if there was blanket in the room or not, but...

I've been there for a week, my room had the bathroom inside. The hostal is quite clean, and it has was is necessary: a bed, an armchair and a bathroom. Most of the rooms are without bathroom, but if you can choose for having the bathroom in you room is better otherwose you have to share it with all the...

This is a solid hostel. Very cheap, about EUR 20 per room per night. The staff is a bit snappy but not mean at all. Rooms are basic but very clean and there is free wifi in all rooms. The location is pretty much smack in the middle of Las Palmas, down on the flat part of town close to...

Stayed here as a stop gap for 3 days. Samuel the office manager was a friendly guy & helpful. At 22 Euro per night for a single room with balcony I had no complaints. Free Wi-fi throughout, clean and very close to the yacht club which was important for me as I needed to be there every day.
If you can get over how rude and unhelpful the main guy (presumably the proprietor) on the reception was then I guess it wasn't so bad. Selective ability to understand English so make sure you have your Spanish phrase book to hand. Accommodation is shambolic and tatty but in a kind of giving character type of way. Spotlessly clean, no...
