San Sebastian is a very prosperous city in the wealthiest region of Spain and Maria Cristina is its crown jewel hotel. It's very centrally located, only 5 minute walk from the incredible concentration of superb dining in the old town. As SPG Platinum I got an upgraded to a Jr Suite with a terrace. The suite is very large with... More

When I valet parked my car, they left it out front ao long that the city towed away, and arranged to return 2 days later. The hotel initally insisted on charging me for the nightly parking fee, .but would cover my ticket and towing fees. The dated room contained a carefully folded bath robe, fresh with fecal wipes, and mentstrual... More

Lets see... the room was large in size as opposed to most European Hotels, which was nice. The bed was comfortable. The shower had trouble draining so I stood in 3 inches of water when I showered. I wore sandals every time, because it just didn't feel very clean. It was also very dark. We got room service for breakfast,... More

Our stay here was one of the best we've ever had. First, the location is great - right in the middle of old town walking distance to everything. But the hotel itself combines great service with great old world style and elegance. We are Starwood Platinum, so we were upgraded to an excellent suite, but even without the upgrade we... More

I loved the Maria Cristina, you feel so glamorous staying there. It is has a very old world European charm and is clean and quiet. Rooms have exceptionally comfortable beds and furniture that fits into the vintage atmosphere. It is very well located and within walking distance of the beach and many sights. However, don't bother to eat in the... More

We stayed on the hotel's third floor where most of the movie stars, producers and directors were staying. during the film festival. Most of the fans were outside the front door, and so to exit the hotel easily, you should use the back door. This is a Westin luxury hotel, and no more needs to be said about the first class... More

excellent location and the desk clerks and concierge were always very friendly and extremely helpful , stayed at one of the suites (beethoven) and it was great. Best Hotel to stay in San Sebastian specially if you're going to the Movie Festival.

Checking in to the Maria C, my wife and I were greeted by a friendly staff and a beautiful property. The hotel is getting to the point where it needs a refresh, but the wear in this case kind of added to the old girl's ambience. We were surprised to find upon our return one morning, that the King and... More

OK. I will start with the downside. This hotel was at the end of its reservation cycle when we stayed. I do not mean to suggest that the hotel was down-at-heel at all. It was immaculately maintained and couldn’t have been cleaner. But some of the carpets, light-switches, and such were due to be replaced. My understanding is that it... More

Everyone knows how good this hotel is supposed to be, and it lives up to the hype. It has had a fabulous renovation since we last stayed a few years ago and the lobby looks stunning. Rooms are large and airy, ours with a view to the side and across to the beach. Staff are professional, friendly and efficient, maids... More
