When I started driving up to this place I thought the GPS had given me wrong directions especially when I arrived at the boom gate. I received a sea view room which was wonderful. The lobby and bar/dining rooms are from another area and very elegant. The actual hotel room was a tad old-fashioned but very serviceable and the bathroom... More

We really wanted to like this place. It has simply stunning views from the lobby and restaurant. The service from the staff was top-notch. Food and drink at the bar and restaurant all quite good. We paid a little extra for a sea view, but opted not to go for the more expensive superior room. In hindsight that was a... More

The ground floor is amazing with the view on the sea & the city in the restaurant & bar A real must see !!! Once in the room, the charm is gone. Very old school room which need refurnishing ! Bathroom was not very clean for a 4star hotel As it was very low season the price was 80 €... More

This hotel is good for a specific type of stay. If you want to be in the thick of things in San Seb, look elsewhere. But if you want an idyllic retreat in between your days in town sightseeing and pinxos eating, somewhere to truly relax at night, then it is ideal! Firstly, the location. Yes, it is a funicular... Like other reviewers I found the view unbeatable and worth the stay just for that. You can however get the same view if you drive up from town and head to the bar for a drink. The rooms are old and faded and could really do with upgrading. The hotel has become a hotspot for group dinners and therefore rooms... More

Incredible view looking down over San Sebastian, really can't be beat. Stay here if that's important. Otherwise, stay in the vibrant town and come up to have drink one evening. Our room was drab but clean and satisfactory. Common areas could use an update. Skip breakfast. You can do better at a cafe in town.

The location and the view is unbeatable, no question about that. Best if you have a car, but taxi is also an option. The only disappointment we had was the breakfast... expensive, not very appetising and the staff should be trained a lot. Our second day, we opted for an 'Express breakfast', but there was nobody at the bar. We... More

Our hotel in San Sebastian was the Hotel Mercure Monte Igueldo which was located high on the top of Igueldo Mountain at the south tip of the Bay. It offers impressive views of either the Bay of Biscay or of San Sebastian city from the lounge area, the breakfast room, and from the balcony of our room. The public areas... More

This hotel lived up to our expectations, which were not too high: a medium category hotel, with faded decor. The view though, from the rooms, as well as from the terrace make the drive out of the city centre and the wait at the bar for the bartender to come to grips with what she can offer and where to...
