Pension San Juan is cheap and cheerful, sure, but that's what you're paying for. Rooms were clean and (shared for our room) showers hot and powerful The location is fantastic, sat in the old town moments away from both beaches with all the pintxos bars on your doorstep. The owner Juan was very friendly, helping us with whatever we needed... More

We had a tiny little double with a tiny little en suite (great shower!), and I can't complain, as the room was newly decorated, everything was perfectly clean, and had everything we needed. San Sebastian is not a big place, so using the hotel as a base, it was easy to get everywhere. The hotel is across the road from... More

I found it to be very clean- rooms were spacious and had lots of spare blankets and pillows, bathrooms were extremely clean! It felt more like a bathroom in your own home rather that a shared hostel bathroom. Great central location and building has a lift as well.

Pensión San Juan is one of the dirtiest hotels I have been to. The room is spacious, but was not clean at all - hair all over the place, stained floor. The linen were also in terrible shape, torn. The shared bathrooms are not too clean, the showers have not been properly cleaned since forever. The pensión is rather noisy... More

This hostel is in a great area, right in the old town and about 5 min walk to both the surf and swimming beaches. The rooms are super clean and big enough. A couple of things for a hostel though-there is no kitchen facilities at all, and no common area so if you want to meet other people or anything... More

We are a mid twenties couple and stayed at this hostel in May. The location is really good but the longer we were there the less we enjoyed out stay. The owner spoke very very little English but seemed friendly enough to begin with when we first arrived. Although as soon as you walk up the stairs you are hit... More

This pension was fantastic. In the perfect location in the old town, a stones throw from restaurants bars and the beach. Clean spacious rooms and a helpful owner with reasonable prices. Definitely recommended!

Juan, the owner, received us with a smile on his face, and gave every great recommendation possible! I loved that he was really organized, and gave us maps, leaflets and a list with the best bars/restaurants in town! The room was kindda small, but everything was in it's place, so we had no problem. We had a little balcony to... More

For the budget travellers, it's a great find. Our host was a ball of laughs and we really enjoyed our stay. Nothing too fancy and clean to our girly standards!
