The only drawback to this clean, well-run, thoughtfully designed hotel is that it is across the river from good places to eat - the area is residential and not that visitor-friendly. And the common spaces downstairs are small, the restaurant and cafe expensive for what we wanted. BUT it is directly across from the Calatrava Bridge and a short walk... more

I booked this hotel on line for its proximity to the Guggenheim. It was a 20 minute walk which is fine but the room was small and unimpressive and the poor nice lady at the front desk was overwhelmed by requests (they are under staffed) for any kind of information. I know it is highly considered but absent the internet... more

I was in the Basque region for about 9 days and this was by far my favourite place that I stayed at. I loved the fact that there were free bike rentals. The location was great. The rooms were immaculate. It is very much like North American boutique style hotels (think the 'W'). I paid about $30 more per night... more

Myself and my girly friend usually go away for long weekend to 4-star hotels in Europe and other destinations. This choice was found via package deal including flight. Cost was extremely reasonable. Although our stay did not include breakfast, we found the bar snacks delicious and reasonably priced (even with Euro exchange rate). We sampled the restaurant at the hotel... more

If you like to be kept waiting to be checked in for 15 minutes when there is no queue (with no apology), given a tiny room where the essentials do not work (phone, temperature control) and pay 5 star hotel prices for the privilege then you may like this hotel as much as other reviewers seem to have, I decided... more

I recently stayed here for 4 nights and booked direct with the hotel at least 3 months before my trip and so may have missed out on some good "late deals". I had anyway booked a "superior" room and was very happy with it: very spacious, good bathroom and a nice kind of enclosed balcony area with a view over... more

Clean, trendy hotel with rooms of varying size. I have to echo the observations on the glass door to the bathroom. That makes it a little overcozy, but can be "worked around." Otherwise, helpful, English-speaking staff and a very nice attached bar. Clearly a business hotel that caters to some tourist traffic as well. While another booking site listed them... more

We went on a tour on the Basque Country, spending one night at Hesperia Bilbao. This was our second time in Bilbao and decided to give a try to thi hotel (previously we stayed at the Miro Hotel). We payed 83 euros a night per double room (2 twin beds together). The location of the hotel is perfect! right in... more

My fiance and I have spent a month in spain traveling pretty much all over the country by car ....this would be our number one rated hotel....the people at the front counter were excellent...the breakfast was great...the location was perfect for visiting the museum or sampling tapas' in the resturant district...it also has parking which is a must....rooms were large... more

All was pretty fantastic, except as a few reviews covered...the cafe/bar/business center area was very smokey. There must be a better ventilation system to minimize the 2nd hand smoke. Not just at this hotel but throughout my travels through Spain. more
