Me and two of my colleagues stayed here for the weekend after a business trip to the rioja region. The staff couldn't do enough for us and we're brilliant when we checked out as they printed our boarding passes and directed us to the bus stop for the airport. We had great views from out 8th floor room and the... More

The Melia Bilbao is an impressive, modern hotel in a very good location -- takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the Guggenheim Museum; also right across from a shopping mall. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Could have used more drawer space and better lighting, but still a positive experience. We enjoyed overlooking the park with its expansive green... More

A find. Not your run of the mill chain hotel. This is a beautifully designed property. The reception area soars in the interior atrium which has glass elevators. The room was spacious, well appointed with a coffer maker. The bathroom was five star, very large with a separate shower. The view was surprising - as it overlooks a park/ And... More

I spent one night here. Rooms are fine, a bit on the small size but the bed was very comfortable, the internet was good, and they had a few English speaking channels of TV. I had a few glasses of Rioja wine at the bar (great Spanish wine similar to US Cabernet Sauvignon). An old friend once said, drink the... More

Short break to Bilbao booked a good chain hotel for 2 nights. Arrived 9.30 pm after a hard days work wanting a meal in the hotel and a relatively early night so we could make the most of the next two days. Restaurant was closed as there was a private party and we were told we could eat in the... More

The melia hotel is very modern, it is quite impressive when you enter the reception. Service is very friendly, everybody tries to help, though some people could improve their English. A short and very nice walk through the park takes you straight to the Guggenheim. If you want to visit the old city, there might be hotels that are better... More

The Melia Bilbao is located close to the Guggenheim and the Museum of Fine Arts. It is within easy walking distance to the old center of town as well. The hotel is modern in architecture and is across the street from a convenient shopping center and also adjacent to a beautiful park. The rooms are spacious and clean and the... More

My wife and I stayed at Melia Hotel in Bilbao, Spain on the first two days of our Basque Country vacation on October 27-29, 2014. The hotel is very modern with a superposition of cubic blocks designed by famed Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta, known for using geometric shapes with brigh colors, here a lot of red. The huge atrium is... More

We stayed in Melia Bilbao for 3 nights in mid-Oct and had a brilliant stay. Staff were really friendly and helpful (gave us maps and marked out loads of places that we should visit). Room was lovely, room service was gorgeous and we had a fabulous bathroom, everything was very modern. Breakfast was fabulous (we loved the Cava!) and the... More

Having stayed at other Melia Hotels, I chose this one for our two day stay in Bilbao. However, I was not impressed by this 5 star. To begin with, there was no bellhop to take our luggage from taxi to the lobby. Being seniors, it was most inconvenient and dangerous having to lug our bags up a ramp. Although arriving... More
