The location can't be beat. It's close walking distance to besutiful parks, the river, old town, Guggenheim etc. But it's in a quiet end of the river which I appreciated. The complimentary breakfast was filled with delicious selections and left you full. The rooms are beautiful and the pool gives you a unique view of the city

We spent two nights in Bilbao and it was a perfect location to see the city. It's a modern hotel that lacks a bit of character (although some will think it is stylish) but rooms are very well appointed and spacious. We didn't take the optional extra breakfast and there were several nice places to sit out nearby. You absolutely... More

We took the airport bus into Bilbao which dropped us off at 74 Gran Via. From there it is a short walked across the park (we travel with carry-on luggage) to the hotel. Very modern. Beautiful rooms. Nice size. Great beds. Quiet-ish. (On the way back we stayed here as well during the middle of Festa so it was noisier... More

Hotel Melia Bilbao is the best hotel in town. 5 stars great suites. Unfortunately service is very much below par. You have to queu here for everything. You quee to register, you queu again to get your key when your room is ready, you queu for breakfast, when there are free tables, you queu to order a taxi and nobody... More

In general it is a very good hotel at the 4* level, not 5*. The rooms are large (in my room I had an excellent view over the river), the location is close to Guggenheim museum. For a 5* there are various functional aspects that need to be improved. The price for parking is too high, specially considering that nearby... More

We stayed for one night in a superior room. The room is gorgeous and the bed is extremely comfortable (moderately soft with soft sheets). The room's private balcony behind glass is a great touch. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast this morning was a delicious buffet with plenty of variety. I'd highly recommend it. There are only two things... More

We had a very big corner room on the 7th floor with a good view but the room was impersonal and unwelcoming, it took us 24 hours to find the switch for the electric window blinds. We had a drink in the bar, had to wait ages to be served and the staff made us feel we were not welcome,... More

The hotel décor and architecture is gorgeous. We were greeted by friendly helpful staff and were given a nice quiet room on the 9th floor. Breakfast tried to cater for all and there was a good choice. It would be nice if they did teapots of hot water for the foreign guests who are tea drinkers as there was no... More

Absolutely gorgeous hotel with amazing architecture, very close to all the sights and city centre. We got a fantastic deal on our room and board and this is the only hotel with a pool that is free for guests. The room was a good size and we found that anytime we requested extra pillows and towels etc we were seen... More
