The whole place was very clean with lovely crisp cotton sheets and fresh towels. Such comfortable beds and we had a balcony with our room which was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful, though did not always speak English confidently - no problem if you are happy to use a phrasebook or online translator. Great location right near an airport bus stop both drop-off and pick-up. 20 mins from the Guggenheim, right near the metro (2 stops from the main bus station), near lots of nice bars and also good shopping on Gran Via. No air conditioning that we could see but a fan in the wardrobe (we didn't need it). A good wifi connection. We did have a bit of difficulty finding the door the first time, but watch out for the numbers above the door and look for a small sign not a big one. 24 hour reception was very useful as we were up very early for day trips. Would stay again.

We stayed in central hostal for 4 nights with a group of friends ( room for 3 + room for 2). We enjoyed our stay. Positive things: - Staff is very friendly and gives helpfull advice. - price quality is good. They also clean very well. - The best thing about the hostel is the location! - We were a bit too loud one night and the staff told us to be a bit more quiet in a very friendly way. -Reception is always available. Only negative point: one of the rooms was a bit too hot. We would recommand this hostel if you are looking for a cheaper but nice stay in central Bilbao.

A good hotel close to city centre. we stayed 4 nights and plenty to do in city. The hotel has 24 hour reception and rooms are ok. we had back room with window on to void and was ok. It is easy to find if you just go to address as given, no mystery. Just press button at main door and will be buzzed in. Staff were very good.

We wanted to stay for a few nights in the centre of the town so booked this hostel. Had a bit of difficulty finding the entrance and a local helped us by pointing the way. An unassuming door led to a small lift (and stairway that we used when we did not have bags) then on the first floor a door led to reception. The staff were helpful and spoke English which helped us as our Spanish is poor. There are 8 rooms all on the first floor. The cooled water you could buy from the fridge near reception was very welcomed. The room was very clean and was newly decorated. We had room 8 which had a window into the inner courtyard area which gave a small bit of light into the room. A unit to cool and heat was in the room and we used this on both nights to cool the room. We were able to leave our bags before and after our stay but there was nowhere to change as the bathrooms are all in the rooms. We got breakfast in many of the tapas bars in the centre of the town a short walk from the hostel. A small word of caution if you are a larger person then squeezing in and out of the shower is interesting as it is one of the shower cubicles that opens at the corner so only allowing a smaller gap to squeeze through. Also a plug socket close to the shelf for the kettle would have been useful. Would stay again and thank you to the staff who were so helpful.

We wanted a double room with a private bathroom in a good location and that's what we got, for cheap too. The room was small but it was just a place to sleep, and at the price it was definitely worth it. Wifi also worked well.

Good location and perfect for what we needed. We recently had an overnight stay in Bilbao - the Hostal Central is as the name suggests, central and within easy reach of all the sights and some good restaurants. The room was good, had all we needed - happy to have tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom let it down a bit - in need of a facelift. Staff friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend.

On the Plaza Moyua area, you are within short walking distance to the best spots in this cozy town of Bilbao, e.g. two blocks off the Alhondiga. Free wifi in the room, and clean. Otherwise, do not expect much at all.

The hostal is in the center of Bilbao, at walking distance from the major attractions. It is basically an apartment in a condo that has been turned into a hostal. Value for money was good, though there is actually no breakfast. WI-fi was free and worked properly. The hostal has no parking, and you have to rely on the parking spots on the hostal neighborhood. If you don't have great expectations, this hostal can be a good option to visit Bilbao and save some money on lodging.

We stayed here for two nights. Our main interest is Guggenheim museum. Very central location: about 12-15 min- walk to Guggenheim museum, 7-8 min-walk to airport bus stop. Easy to walk to old and new Bilbao and very close to shopping street with brand names and shopping mall. Good, clean room and bathroom. Friendly staff and helpful- can communicate in English, gave us suggestion where to go, what to see. It's budget hotel, no fridge in guest room but they allow us to store our food and drinks in staff fridge, just ask them, but not too much, the fridge is small. There is a tray with a kettle, tea-coffee, crackers in the guest room--it's Free. There's small lift/ elevator. Our room has a balcony with table and chairs. Good place to stay and explore the city.
