As reviewed by others this is a grand, old style hotel in a good location. I paid Euro 134 for my wife and I for one night and got appalling treatment for my trouble. Long story short, check in is at 2:00 but at 3:45, after 2 enquiries, our room was obviously not ready, and we were given a twin... More

I only stayed at hotel de la reconquista for a night, but i could have stayed for a month. I felt like i was staying in a castle. The rooms were very big and wide, with a great bath and a nice view. The personnel were very kind. There was a game room where my kids played video games and... More

I feel like a princess, my room is decorated in pictures of archaeological discoveries, heavy blue and gold curtains and lots of dark wood. The staff are friendly and helpful, even the doorman who did not speak English managed to get us directions with a map provided from the hotel. We ate at the cafeteria downstairs and the food was... We just returned home from our visit to Europe. We lodged at La Reconquista for three days during our visit to Asturias. If you are looking for an ultra modern hotel this may not be your best choice; however, if you are looking for an elegant looking hotel with the feel of days gone by this is the right choice... More

If I visit Oviedo again I'll stay here again. The location is very convenient and easy to reach by car (though my GPS tried to make a real mess of the route on leaving). The hotel is characterized by its faded glory - magnificent central reception room, threadbare carpets, deserted bar and (I believe) a restaurant that appeared to be... More

I was very disappointed by this hotel, which would need a complete renovation and modernisation as it feels fusty, old-fashioned, dark furniture, dark rooms....Worst is their water pipe system - when laying in bed at night you hear every toilet flushing from other rooms as if this was happening at your room - same for any water going down the... stayed here before, so I guess my return shows that I like it... the hotel is a bit away from the historical area (even though it is in this gorgeous historical building) and the shopping area, but close to the stations. reception was nice and efficient, rooms classic and nice. garage a bit costly, EUR 23/day.

We fully concur with a number of other recent reviews that this hotel is in serious need of a make-over (or take over?). Beautiful building and great potential as another reviewer has pointed out but it is tired and behind the times, not deserving the rating that is attributed to this establishment by other raters on this site. The front... More

Apart from its fantastic location this hotel does not deserve to get this high ranking in here for it is deceiving! I must say it has tremendous potentials if moneys were invested into it! It needs a serious refurbishment throughout. Service (when you do get some) is certainly not up to par. Staying here is not cheap, rooms are very... More
