I planed to visit Oviedo as the group travelling in Oct 2014 and found Hotel de la Reconquista, a beautiful 5 star hotel in town. We confirm to stay there but I found it is very difficult to reach the hotel as it is in the change transition from Melia to Eurostar chain so the hotel info in website quite... More

My experience staying here two nights was really good. Really good beds, nice bathrooms, alright internet for Spanish standards, well kept, tidy and clean. Wonderful hall and decor and the most welcoming door man you could ever find. Location is perfect in walking distance to shopping and lots of bars in the old town.

This hotel is supossed to be the best one in Oviedo. But, although is located in a very beautiful building, the interior is really terrible. The decoration is very old-fashioned, even the renovated rooms have a very bad taste. There are not enough staff on the door, so you have to load your own luggage and drive your car to... More

Stayed here for one night whilst on a business trip in Northern Spain. My German and Spanish colleagues stay at this hotel every time they make the trip. The hotel is excellent and has a great authentic feel to it. Very modern and contemporary hotels can be great, but it is also great to feel you are in a traditional... More

Four of us were exploring Northern Spain and this hotel was our starting point. Oviedo is a beautiful city with a lovely central parkland and a charming old quarter. It is also close to Avila and Gijon both well worth visiting. The first impression of this hotel is its situation and grandeur. Straight away the hotel excels with its customer... More

Service very unsatisfactory due to lack of staff at certain times of day. Many staff trainees learning on the job. Our request for the shower in our bathroom to be mended led to no response, and phone calls ten minutes later were not answered. As a result I had to walk down to reception myself to ask about the problem,... More

As reviewed by others this is a grand, old style hotel in a good location. I paid Euro 134 for my wife and I for one night and got appalling treatment for my trouble. Long story short, check in is at 2:00 but at 3:45, after 2 enquiries, our room was obviously not ready, and we were given a twin... More

I only stayed at hotel de la reconquista for a night, but i could have stayed for a month. I felt like i was staying in a castle. The rooms were very big and wide, with a great bath and a nice view. The personnel were very kind. There was a game room where my kids played video games and... More

I feel like a princess, my room is decorated in pictures of archaeological discoveries, heavy blue and gold curtains and lots of dark wood. The staff are friendly and helpful, even the doorman who did not speak English managed to get us directions with a map provided from the hotel. We ate at the cafeteria downstairs and the food was... We just returned home from our visit to Europe. We lodged at La Reconquista for three days during our visit to Asturias. If you are looking for an ultra modern hotel this may not be your best choice; however, if you are looking for an elegant looking hotel with the feel of days gone by this is the right choice... More
