The city of Oviedo is a historic wonder with 3 pre-Romanesque churches that are UNESCO World Heritage sites! Our gem for the trip was staying at the Hotel de la Reconquista. This 18th century luxury hotel was previously a children's home and hospice. The engaging staff shared the historic significance of past and present day. An amazing hotel to explore... More

but its just been taken over and they are already working on it as the restaurant was closed for refurbishment while we were there. First the reception is heading for 5 stars, friendly, well organised with several staff who had worked in top London hotels. They know what is needed. The building is fabulous but in places obviously tired and... More

Secured a fantastic last minute deal on the day with booking.com. Luxurious hotel with the wow factor inside and fabulous courtyard outside. We had been booking budget hotels on our road trip around Spain so this was a bit special at a very reasonable 80 Euros. Room was clean, smart and comfortable but not 'over the top'. Had to pay... Well appointed room. Very clean. Professional staff. Beautiful common area in interior court yard where staff will appear to take drink order. Initially no wi I but that was working by evening. Recommendations of staff to go to special cider street for dinner was great fun. Very good choice to experience this architecturally fascinating city.

This is a beautiful hotel with lovely, spacious rooms. Stick with the "standard" rooms...you pay way more for a very tiny balcony that you can barely stand on and the "suite" is the same room with a very small and unimpressive living room. Finally, a hotel that still has bellhops and great attention to service. In a quiet location despite... More

I planed to visit Oviedo as the group travelling in Oct 2014 and found Hotel de la Reconquista, a beautiful 5 star hotel in town. We confirm to stay there but I found it is very difficult to reach the hotel as it is in the change transition from Melia to Eurostar chain so the hotel info in website quite... More

My experience staying here two nights was really good. Really good beds, nice bathrooms, alright internet for Spanish standards, well kept, tidy and clean. Wonderful hall and decor and the most welcoming door man you could ever find. Location is perfect in walking distance to shopping and lots of bars in the old town.

This hotel is supossed to be the best one in Oviedo. But, although is located in a very beautiful building, the interior is really terrible. The decoration is very old-fashioned, even the renovated rooms have a very bad taste. There are not enough staff on the door, so you have to load your own luggage and drive your car to... More

Stayed here for one night whilst on a business trip in Northern Spain. My German and Spanish colleagues stay at this hotel every time they make the trip. The hotel is excellent and has a great authentic feel to it. Very modern and contemporary hotels can be great, but it is also great to feel you are in a traditional... More

Four of us were exploring Northern Spain and this hotel was our starting point. Oviedo is a beautiful city with a lovely central parkland and a charming old quarter. It is also close to Avila and Gijon both well worth visiting. The first impression of this hotel is its situation and grandeur. Straight away the hotel excels with its customer... More
