Location is a little far from city center. Rooms were comfortable. I didn't like the green bathrooms though. Hotel restaurant was not very good and under staffed. Breakfast was okay, but not great. I would probably stay somewhere else next time.

We spend 5 nights in July 2014. A tipical AC hotel, a twin brother of AC Valencia. Clean and nice. VERY good prices for food and drinks in the hotel restaurant, including business lunch for 12 euro. Far from the centre (15 min by bus, bus stop is within a 5 min walk), but close to the main coast road,... More

The AC Hotel in Gijon is located on the edge of the town on one of the main approach roads, Avenida de la Constitucion. It is handy for the east-west autovia network, the A8, and other highways. The city centre is about 10 minutes’ drive or there are buses (#15 and #6) that run every 20-30 minutes (€1.25). A large... More

There is a big difference between the AC autograph collection and a regular AC hotel. We had stayed at the Marriott AC hotel in Santiago de Compostela and really liked it, so we booked another AC hotel in Gijon the following night. Room is small, Air conditioning didn't work, even after asking clerk twice who said he would go downstairs... More

By entering the reception area you will be surprised by a bed in with some lights from top on it!!!!!! An old-style furniture in rooms might make you feel upset Even the food hall located at the ground floor seems you are in one of summer camps which you see it during your school days. what a hotel it is... I agree with most reviewers: nice hotel, quite comfortable, but the location is a bit far from the centre. On the other hand, there is a frequent bus service to town. On the way back after dinner you may need to walk back or take a taxi: the bus service drops to once an hour after 11 p.m. and chances... More

The AC Hotel Gijon is a modern building that will remind Americans a bit of a Courtyard. The rooms are actually a bit nicer than than that, and I found mine very pleasant and comfortable. The hotel is located on the outskirts of town, so that you have to drive to everything. It's on a strip that has car dealerships... More

AC is in a residential area a few km south of the centro, straight down the Avenida. It is a good location, but not too convenient if you are planning on spending most of your time in the centro. It was easy and cheap to use the bus--2 or 3 stops within 3min of the hotel, and only about 10min... More

I recently spent 5 nights at the AC Hotel Gijon, and was very happy with the whole experience. The staff were very helpful, the room was exceedingly comfortable, the breakfast was fantastic, and the hotel's location, while not in the center of town by any stretch, was still an easily-walkable 20 minutes to the heart of it. Definitely recommended.

Had the opportunity to spend several nights at this property when the U.S. Davis Cup tennis team played Spain in the World Semi-finals in Gijon. As a recent addition to the Marriott family this hotel was probably still in transistion. Staff was REALLY hot and cold....some Great, some not up to Marriott excellence. Location is on south edge of town,... More
