Stayed two nights after arriving on ferry so that we could spend a day in Gijon before touring Northern Spain. Delighted with Hotel Quinta Duro, beautiful house, obviously well cared-for, the hotel was spotless, rooms beautifully appointed, excellent facilities and the gardens are divine. Carlos and his son Jesus were so helpful, without being obtrusive, and gave us plenty of... More

Used this hotel after coming off the ferry. The staff were so helpful they brought breakfast forward and hour so we could leave early. Rooms were clean and well decorated. The hotel is situated in a beautiful park it made you feel you were miles from anywhere - so relaxing

We loved this hotel. Great value. We had to get two rooms because of our kids, but even then, prices were reasonable. I would definitely return! You feel like you are stepping back in history staying here. Breakfast was also great

We chose this hotel because it had free parking which is in short supply in the town of Gijon, and as we were arriving late off the LD ferry from Poole we hoped it would be easy to find. It is a bit off the beaten track but there are signs to it on some junctions. We were greeted and... More

This is a lovely old house in gated grounds that has been in the same family since 1640. It is intriguingly furnished with antique furniture but is also supremely comfortable. It is evidently cherished by the present owner who is a very obliging host. We arrived about 9pm off the boat from Poole but I must admit that it was... More

Thank you very much for your review and for taking some of your time. I just wanted to point out that the Italian restaurant who brought dinner does not have any special agreement with the hotel, but it is the only one serving food at home and it gets to the hotel (since we are a bit away from the... My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night after driving for more than nine hours from Southern Spain. As we had booked the room over the phone the night before were not able to print off directions and as a consequence found ourselves lost. The owner of the hotel came to meet us and guided us to... We were fortunate to stay one night in this very charming and truly elegant hotel just outside the city of Gijon. We were delighted with our very comfortable room on the ground floor with a view to the beautiful garden and terrace. The owner, Carlos, was most helpful and courteous and we were very sorry not to be able to... More

We stayed for one night. The grounds, the hotel and the room that we had were lovely and Carlos was an excellent host. The hotel has been his family home and has been in his family for many centuries. The rooms are fitted out to a very high standard. There is no evening meal so you have to go out... More

Thank you very much for your comment, actually the size of our hotel with only 22 people for breakfast, prevents us from having a very spacious range of products, we try to compensate with quality and very reasonable price for breakfast. Greetings. More

A very nicely restored country house on a five acre estate. The location is just outside the city centre, close to the Jardin Botanico (recommended). A very nice change from the small and often cramped city hotel rooms. Very comfortable and the host Carlos was very helpful. Just down the road there's a sidreria / tavern with good local food... This gated estate is full of history and charm… We stayed for one night and we were reluctant to leave… The host helped us with touring, places to eat, and even hooked us up with a place to stay in the next town that we were going to stop. We will return anytime we are in this area.
