We spent 2 nights at this hotel. We picked it because of its location. The rooms are spacious and facilities are well maintained, spotlessly clean. The bathroom ventilation connects you to the other bathrooms so you hear everything from other rooms. Since there is no safety grid, mosquitoes and other self-invited guests arrived through there. We had to sleep with... More

overnight stop from santander on way to galicia. This was a cheap central hotel in Gijon, with nearby restaurants of high quality. The Rooms had ample space, were comfortable and air conditioned. The staff were excellent and spoke english readily. TV and Wifi, excellent breakfast in end of siecle surroundings. Car park (underground) on door step. Hotel had concession there... More

The hotel is lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely room with a sitting area and even though we were on a higher floor the wifi was very good. Breakfast was very basic with a very confusing 3 tier system that didn't work for us so we ended up eating breakfast out every day.... More

The Hernan Cortes is a lovely hotel situated in the heat of Gijon. Really convenient if you want to explore the town. There is a car park just a 2 minute stroll away and they have a deal with the car park for reduced fees. The hotel itself is a relatively old (I understand it's an old school)but it is... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hernan Cortes. It was located about 10-15 minutes from the train station (walking) and was in a perfect location for visiting the beach and old town. The men working at the front desk were extremely professional and very accommodating. The hotel itself is old school, but in the best way possible. It's nice... More

We stayed here for a long weekend in November. It's an easy walk from the bus station of around 10 minutes, even with cases. It's in a good central location and well placed for shops and bars etc. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the receptionist and were given an upgrade to a suite. We were rather pleased... This was a great find. It is central and although it doesn't have its own car park, they offer you a discounted rate of 10€/day at a public car park less than a minute's walk away. The staff on reception are friendly and very helpful as was the lady who worked in the breakfast bar. They have two types of... More

Our second visit to this hotel and certainly one we will use on future visits to Gijon. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Good location for shopping, eating and the beach. Yes, it is next to a Casino but we were not bothered by this. On this stay we had a deluxe room, situated on the 8th floor which to our surprise... More
