It's ok for business travelers because of the good location downtown. The staff is attentive and very helpful. The room is standard with wifi and spacious closet. We stayed at the room facing the street but it was quiet and pleasant. Breakfast is a bit bland but not terrible. Choices of music in the breakfast room is incredible, however, as... More

We stayed here again for a trip to Gijon in November. We chose to come back as we had enjoyed our previous visit a couple of years ago. The location remains very useful in the centre of Gijon, within walking distance of everything that you could need. The staff were as friendly as before and knew that we'd stayed once... More

Actually a quite standard hotel, everything in order, nothing more nothing less. Room ok, wifi good, breakfast bit dull but acceptable. Works OK when at job but I wouldn't go here with my wife to be a bit romantic. Close downtown and that was ok. So all in all a middle class hotel that was clean, proper and good

The staff at the hotel were excellent and most helpful. The location was good for a city hotel and typical. If you want to be near the ocean choose another hotel. I was travelling alone, but chose a Premium Room for the extra space etc. The room did not have a view, which was a dis-appointment. Higher up I guess... More

We stayed one night here & we couldn´t fault the hotel at all. The reception staff were very efficient & all spoke fluent English. We were very impressed with the room (908) on 9th floor. We had views towards the harbour which we could see lit up at night. Room very spacious 2 roomy wardrobes, 2 armchairs, desk & chair........ More

Location is great, middle of city and a short walk to the port area. Hotel is clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Travelling with kids so got a 'junior suite' - fabulous room and very reasonably priced. Wifi was ok. Breakfast was standard, though there were a couple of nice touches - rolls already cut open, sandwiches ready-buttered to toast... More

Nice staff, nice and clean rooms with sufficient space, efficient internet connection and all you can ask for at a low price hotel. Absolutely value for money! The hotel is located in the heart of the city with walking distance to all major attractions, and has agreements with the big nearby parking garages if you need to place your car.

We booked the Hernan Cortes literally 5 minutes before arriving, after deciding not to stay at our previous hotel. From the warm welcome we received when we arrived (despite the short notice!) we instantly had high expectations which were not misplaced. The room was spacious, clean and well decorated with a very large, comfortable bed and excellent silent air con.... More

After my recent experience of the reservation on-line process through to check-out I would highly recommend staying at the Hernan Cortes Hotel. My wife and I arrived as first time visitors to Gijon for a family celebration event and our long weekend stay was made perfect by the hotels location, polite staff and clean facilities. Thank you also to tripadvisor... More

Old school style and charming. Stayed in a well appointed mini suite, excellent value for money. Very clean, everywhere gleamed - marble floors, shiney wood, brass banisters, mirrored lifts. Breakfast reasonable and wide selection. Short walk to either port or beach - Gijon is nicer than expected.
