I did my very best to speak spanish with my little phrase book, but the staff seemed put off by my efforts. Many of the signs at the hotel are in English, but don't let that fool you, they didn't speak any. I don't expect the whole world to cater to my English needs, but give me points for trying... more

The Derby Seville is a 3 star rated hotel on Plaza Duque de la Vitoria. The location is good, right in front El Corte Ingles (where it's possible to buy some food) and 5 minutes to the Catedral through Calle Sierpes and Tetuan (the most trendy streets of Seville). It's a modern building hotel with regular and modern rooms. They... more

Seville with its streets lined with orange trees covered in fruit in the middle of January was an eye-opener. Visitors should not attempt to take the fruit as it is collected and given to the poor of the city, The Derby is a 3-star hotel in an ideal situation opposite the main store of El Corte Ingles and within walking... more

Excellent location. Pretty much average service standard. Very close to all attractions and eating places. Good value for money. Only minor negative point: when we reserved the rooms we asked for quiet No Smoking rooms. We E-mailed twice with the same request a few days prior to arrival but replies seemed to be an optional so we phoned and eventually... more

We got competitive quotes from a range of similar hotels and we were so pleased this one came up with a good price for 5 of us in 2 rooms. The location was very convienient Just over the other side of the small attractive square was the El Cortes Ingles department store with a very convienient food hall (Waitrose prices... more

I paid an extra 10 euros for this hotel, after reviewing some other cheaper alternatives were further. Unlike Madrid and Barcelona, where the city is accessible by Metro, in Seville the location helps greatly - and saves money - as there is no metro. Getting from railway station and airport needs cabs...but the price is fixed for airport. The hotel... more

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Hotel Derby. We had 2 triple rooms and they were spacious and even had a cute little entryway to put luggage. The hotel was clean and updated but still with plenty of charm. We really enjoyed lounging on the rooftop. The location was perfect- walking distance to everything; cafes, shopping, sight-seeing. Around... more

Hotel Derby is located in a convenient square in Seville, close enough to the major attractions to allow a sightseeing stroll to be interesting but not challenging. One of the city bus lines from the AVE rail station ends about 5 minutes' walk from the hotel; and there is a taxi stand in the square. Near the hotel there are... more

The place was clean and tidy with everything you would expect from a hotel of this standard. The location was excellent for all the local attractions, which are all within walking distance. I was even surprised at how close the Cathedral was. There are absolutely loads of bars nearby, in fact I've never seen so many bars as they have... more

Four of us stayed at the Derby a couple of weeks ago and we found it to be an excellent base. Situated in a busy little square with El Corte Ingles and taxi rank opposite it is an ideal spot for all attractions. Breakfast was fine and with the good weather they were having their rooftop facilities proved to be... more
