I stayed here before starting a study abroad program (I was allowed to stay with my host family until Sept 2nd!) I chose Hotel Gran Lar mainly because it was close to my home stay, but it turned out to be a solid hotel. Nice (Although somewhat uncomfortable) beds, Wifi (although you had to physically go down to the welcome... More

The hotel is good and clean. It may have started out as a 4 star hotel, but the upkeep wasn't enough. I'd say it's more a 3.5. For the price, the hotel is of awesome value. The location is conveniently between the city center and the train station. It's about 10-15min walk to the train station. The hotel staff are... More

There seems to be a lot of griping about the Lar. Yes, it's classic 1970s, no it's not 5 star. We have stayed at the Lar about five times, usually paying shoulder season prices around $US60 a night. We find it's clean, well located just 10 minutes walk from the railway station and quiet. The Lar is good value for... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and thought this hotel had character, yes the décor is a bit antique and we felt like we went back in time but everything was fully functional and pleasant, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, we found the bed very comfortable and appreciated the air-con and black out curtain, our room was at... This hotel has fine location, to be true. I stayed in it for 7 days and, and I find it like a fine 2* hotel. Plus: clean room and toilets, descent size. Minus: thin walls (noise from the rooms or from the patio), very old mattrass which started to influence my dream after second night. Reception: hardly English speaking, but... More

While traveling as a group with 18 students, we stayed at the Gran Lar Hotel. The person at the reception desk treated us very poorly, becoming very annoyed if any of the students asked questions. The second day at the hotel , the treatment from this woman became worse. The breakfast offered by this hotel is less than adequate for... More

Now don't get me wrong, as a tour guide I get to stay in many, many hoteles ranging from excellent to downright frightening. This hotel is neither of these, but I have to write about it as it's had an affect on me. It is unique and, in a way, charming because of what it is. This hotel when opened... More

This is not a luxury hotel, but is convinient if you are visiting Seville, due to its great location very close to the typical sighseeings. Has private parking, not very large but with wide spaces in case you bring a car there. The staff was very kind to me. I stayed for business on the week of April Fair in... More

This hotel has obviously not been upgraded or remodelled in decades. The decor and furnishings are old, tired and garish. Don't get me wrong: this is not dated Havana or Palm Springs groovy. This is just old and tarnished and creepy. The bed is hard as a rock, the sheets stiff and scratchy. The pillow is one long narrow uncomfortable... More
