We liked the location of the hotel which was in the Santa Cruz area, and in a pleasant square just off the main thoroughfare (Av Menedez) into the Cathedral and Alcazar. The hotel had a large bar and lounge - comfortable with large sofas but with albeit slightly dated decor. The reception staff, particularly the young girls were lovely and... more

The Gran Lar was a very nice place to stay. It was very clean and the rooms were comfortable. It was a little far on foot from the Bari Gothic area. I visited during Easter so many hotels were booked. The Gran Lar however was very close in distance to the train station which was great because I used the... more

We walked to this hotel from the Santa Justa train station. It just took us 10 minutes. We were kind of wary about the location after reading many reviews here - concerning about it being in a seedy locality as well as being far away from the main attractions. So after we stayed there for 2 nights, here are our... more

I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a coach tour (with Trapsatur). This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel but is in fact a cheap 3 star in quality. Room - Very very very old. The door lock/key didn't even work when I checked in they had to put a new one in right away. There... more

We booked this as part of an escorted tour and, prior to our stay here, had been at a very nice hotel in Granada. (See our review of Hotel Alixares, Granada.) From the outset, we were disappointed with the shabby appearance and found that the hotel was in need of some maintenance and renovation. For example, the hairdryer hose had... more

An expensive DUMP. The four star rating is a sad joke as this place does not deserve one star. Avoid like the plague. more

Yuck. This hotel hadn't been touched since 1980. It was filthy, out of date, and in a HORRIBLE neighborhood. When we booked it it seemed close enough to Barrio Santa Cruz and the sights. I guess, technically, it was. But the neighborhood was very sketchy and almost scary at night. Most of the hotel staff was rude and the only... more

It looks good from the reception area, but once you get to the upper floors the hotel is quite simply shabby and in much need of rennovation. It looks like something out of the 1980's and hasnt been touched since. Which is a shame, because with some tender loving care it could be much better. The room was small, clean,... more

The hotel was in a very good location. Although the streets were very confusing (even with a map) it was still sort of easy to find the tourist attractions. The hotel itself was decent and clean. The only thing is that the air conditioning was not that great and sometimes after a shower it got a little stuffy in the... more
