Our hotel is a restored house from the XVI century. It is situated on the main street of the historical neighbourhood of the Albaizyn ( Granada), five minutes walking distance from the city centre. It is surrounded by gardens and different monuments such us the Monastery of Santa Isabel la Real, the palace of Dar-Al Horra and the San Miguel Bajo church. The hotel is also very near the beautiful views from San Nicolas, San Cristobal and la Lona. There is an enclosed parking lot and a bus stop near the hotel.

This is a very nice little hotel with more of a bed and breakfast feel. It's a bit of a hike from the main tourist areas but close to the Mirador St. Nicholas, walkable to the Monastery of St. Jerome and Church of San Juan de Dios. The room I had looked over the interior courtyard and was very spacious and comfortable, rustic in style with tile floors, some noise during the day but very quiet at night. Breakfast was very good with Spanish meats and cheeses, cereals, yogurts, breads, flan (a nice touch) and eggs cooked to order. The staff is very, very nice and accommodating.
There's also a nice sitting room off the courtyard with comfy couches and chairs, snacks, beverages and local spirits.
FYI - the main door is right off a street that, though very narrow, still has car traffic so you have to be careful. The shower is a glass-enclosed tub type. I'd have preferred a prefer walk-in.

This is a lovely, lovely hotel. Stayed here for three nights, the week before Coronavirus started closing everything. It is a small (11 rooms) hotel in the old area of Granada. We had a superior double room, it was big, about 20 sq metres and that was before allowing for the bathroom. I must mention the bathroom because the shower etc was excellent.

The breakfast is good, basically a buffet (egg dishes will be cooked for you) with a good range of choices and very good quality ingredients. Everything is clean and well cared for. The room quiet and the staff friendly and supportive.

I could go on but I want to mention the buses, no 31 and 32, get to know them, particularly no 31. At 1.40 euro a trip, great value, they are frequent and a good way to see the city. Each go in a loop so just stay on it you will not get lost.

Very recently my wife and I, together with other close friends, spent a superb 2 full days in Granada based at the lovely Hotel Santa Isabel La Real.
This historic hotel, situated centrally in the Old Town close to the Mirador St Nicolas but quiet at night , has a central courtyard with rooms around this.
We reserved the 2 superior rooms at the top of the building with views over to the Alhambra Palace:: light, spacious, well appointed and comfortable.
Breakfast is tasty, with freshly cooked eggs offered, home made jams/marmalade, teas, coffee, fresh bread and ham/egg/etc.
Secure, private, under cover parking is available less than 30 metres from the door of the hotel.

However, the best part of our stay was the lovely friendly informative interaction with the local family owners, who also speak French & English. Charming, helpful and utterly delightful.

Thanks so much for making our visit to Granada so wonderful

We were unable to book the Alhambra tickets online so we took the offer of this hotel to do so for us. We contacted the hotel 6 weeks prior to our stay and requested for a 11 am ticket to the Alhambra Palace of Nasrid entry. We were emailed back that 11am slot was confirmed and we were charged much more that the price on the alhambra website for this. Upon check in we were given tickets for a 2pm entry. Our 2 day visit to Granada was planned with a very tight schedule and this really upset the schedule. Secondly, the hotel has an area where there are beverages available for guests in the lobby area, when I asked if I could take a cup of hot water up to my room, the hotel offered to put a mini kettle in my room. They never did so. Although I did not ask for this. They should not offer services that they cannot accomplish.
The hotel itself is as nice as the reviews say it is. However my short stay in Granada, I did not get to do all that I had planned due to their incompetence.

This is a very nice hotel with a high level of service and very good breakfast. It is high on the hill overlooking Granada in the old Moor section of town. There is easy bus transportation right from the hotel to the major sites in the City, including the Alhambra. The area around the hotel has some nice restaurants with great views of the Alhambra and a vibrant square nearby also with great views. I little tricky getting there by car so it is best to arrange for parking in their garage and then use the bus.

This little family-run hotel is a real find. You can tell they care about the details. Built in the old moorish style with a total of 8-10 rooms only, it is a terrific location away from the general downtown tourist area. Between the old Albaicin and Sacromonte neighborhoods it has terrific view up the street of the Alhambra. All very old, charming and historic. Lots of narrow, cobblestone streets and steep hills. Bring your walking sticks if arthritic knees are an issue.

Great little restaurants nearby down a steep hill then along the river and an easy bus ride to town and the Alhambra on two lines that stop right in front.

Simple breakfast included. Daughter Lola serves and her love of her neighborhood where she grew up is evident. Ingo often works the front desk and is very helpful with directions, restaurants and cabs. Also great English. Rooms and bathrooms spacious, simple but very comfortable. Lighting soft and warm. A bathtub and body lotion, what a concept! Clean and quiet. A great choice in Granada.

(One thing we did not like. The hotel recommended a tour guide of the neighborhood and Alhambra and in our opinion, was not very good for the money. Alex grew up in Granada but talks non-stop and struggles with English and most importantly, historical details. You will do better with audio guide.

We chose the Hotel Santa Isabel la Real based on its location in the heart of the historic Albayzin neighborhood. High on a hill, the neighborhood offers dramatic views, including of the Alhambra, great selection of local restaurants and bars. If you want a less modern, more "old world' place, this is the hotel for you. The hotel is in a 16th century building centered on a charming courtyard. The staff, particularly Ingo, could not have been more helpful. He gave us good restaurant recommendations, sat with us upon arrival and oriented us to Granada with a detailed map, and fixed us a breakfast to go when we had early entry reservations at the Alhambra. Ingo, a native of Granada, is fluent in English with a charming Australian accent from his years living there. He even did some laundry for us, at no charge.
It's very convenient that right next door to the hotel is a bus stop served by both the C31 (loop through the Albayzin and Central Granada) and C32 (to the Alhambra via central Granada) minibuses.
Despite its location in the very old Albayzin, the hotel has a few indoor parking spaces nearby. Very useful to us, as we were picking up a rental car in Granada for the next leg of our trip.

Be aware that the Albayzin neighborhood is set on the top of quite a tall hill. The center of Granada is close at hand, but involves a lot of stairs to reach. We often used the frequent/convenient C31 and C32 minibuses, particularly midday when temperatures were in the 90's F during our stay

Fabulous little family run hotel, breakfast included and Ingo was so helpful. We managed to book a superior room on the top floor and it included a parking space which are Rae to find in this area of Granada. The bus runs every 10minutes too and only costs €1.40 each trip and goes to the city centre as well as the Alhambra.

This comfortable, old world inn has the kind of character most travellers dream about. A wonderfully helpful staff and a decent buffet breakfast was very much appreciated.
The sitting room provided lemonade, coffee, and best of all, homemade sherry all day. Located in the charming Albyzin area close to the best view of the Alhambra and right on the C32 bus route. Also, an easy walk to the historic center of Granada.
This hotel has deserved all of the awards it has won. They even made us a packed breakfast when we had to catch an early train. This one hotel was the best we had in all of Spain. Thanks to Eva and all the folks at the Santa Isabel la Real.

We arrived and were greeted by Ingo who gave us alot of information, most of which was scribbled on a map of the city. We had three nights at this hotel and beyond that first time with a knowledgeable person, the rest of the staff could not hepl us reserve tickets, or worse yet, were simply not available. We tried to call the office one afternoon and evening for over 4 hours, also ringing the bell as noted on the office door. Then we were given a cell number of the "sister" that was suppossed to be available but she did not answer either the night before we left or the next morning.

The tub/shower did not have a mat so it was dangerously slippery. The two options for bathing was a economy size of shampoo or a disinfectant hand soap--no shower jell or bar of soap. The towels should have been retired some time long before we arrived.

Breakfast, included, was pretty minimum and the thing we were to use to toast bread was archaic.

We did not understand from the initial meeting with Ingo that the wall unit was for heat as well as air conditioning. The hotel is only heated a for a few hours in the afternoon, turned off at night and turned on for a few hours in the morning. On the third day we learned that we could use the wall unit for heat. It was 41 F on the second day and raining so were were very cold and since there was no one answering the phone or bell we were very unhappy.

All in all it was not a well run hotel and at $240 a night (which did include parking) I am sure there are better choices in Granada.

Oh this was not how it was in our room. The safe was bolted inside the wardrobe & very secure. We enjoyed just one night at this lovely place. Access to the hotel is through an intercom so people can’t just walk in off the street. It’s a really nice place with parking & all the staff are wonderful. Hope you choose to stay. 💕
